Last Days

[Aonir]

We were born blind,
My brother and I.
Then our mother had left us,
Left us to die.

A human had found us,
And took us inside.
Although we were weak,
We still tried to survive.

The human made some phone calls,
But all shelters were full.
Finally she called a friend,
Who knew a person with a kind soul.

We were in a car ride,
For over an hour.
I could hear the talking,
Of love and its power.

The young girl took us in,
With her whole heart.
She bottle fed us,
And thought we'd never part.

Two days had passed,
And my brother had died.
He was to weak,
But I still had to try.

I lost my appetite,
I really miss you, my brother.
So the young human girl
tried to find me a mother.

A week later,
I was losing my faith.
The vet had tried hard,
To determine my fate.

That day I remember,
I was supposed to get a mother.
But the person wasn't in,
So for a day I had to suffer.

The very next day,
When I was supposed to get a family.
I was already gone,
With my brother for eternity.

I was only 10 days old,
And hardly even ate.
My eyes had opened,
That day of my fate.

I want you to know,
You tried your best.
I know you'll love me,
As I lay down to rest.

I do not blame you,
For you only showed me love.
I shall watch over you,
From my place up above.

You are my mother,
And I'll love you forever.
I know you'll never forget us,
Me and my brother.
