Guest Anonymous Posted August 20, 2003 Posted August 20, 2003 I have a 10 week old golden. When I brought him home I had gotten a bag of Iams to feed him. He had been given Puppy chow after he was weaned. I didn't think to start gradually by mixing the two kinds together and as a result he was very looooooose. Kept me up every hour to go out and went every time. Since I reintroduced the pupppy chow and now am feeding only that his stools are normal (during the day) at night he still wakes up on the average of every three hours and goes every time and the stools are very loose (only in the night). If anyone has a clue as to what might be the problem. He also east grass all of the time he is outside. Quote
Lucky Chaos Posted August 20, 2003 Posted August 20, 2003 Well, I can't help you but your puppy sounds cute! Of course you have to show us Quote
Rowie-the-Pooh Posted August 20, 2003 Posted August 20, 2003 Seeing as he is 10 weeks old, I'm thinking he was brought home two weeks ago? :-? It may be the sudden change, stress, or even the food. I would not recomend IAMS, maybe you could slowly, gradually, change the food for a better brand. Did you slowly introduce the food? The way to introduce new foods is: first day changing Old Brand 90% New Brand 10% then after maybe two days Old Brand 50% New Brand 50% and then two days after that Old Brand 10% New Brand 90% after about two days remove the old brand off the diet. If that is the way you did it, then I think it would be IAMS. I myself have a Golden! :) I would LOVE to see pictures! :iloveyou: Quote
Aonir Posted August 20, 2003 Posted August 20, 2003 I let my 10 wk old puppy out ever 3 hours, but she doesn't have a BM every time. She used to when she was younger, but not now. It's (as mentioned) the new food and probably the new environment. Have you tried to use the food that they breeder used? Quote
