Aroura Posted August 15, 2003 Posted August 15, 2003 This is killing me inside that someone could write this article. http://www.thesundaymail.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5936,6851606%5E2765,00.html I am so angry! What they should be looking at is how terrible a life this poor soul must have had to make her like this. Is it really her fault that she was probably brutally beaten each day and not fed unless she showed the utmost instincts to kill? We have to keep the Queenslanders in our hearts who own and love their Pits and face having them stolen and heartlessly killed without any thought at all as to how loved they really are and the joy they bring to their familly with each and every breath. Quote
Deez Posted August 15, 2003 Posted August 15, 2003 I say ban the owners that made the dog aggressive!! Quote
Rowie-the-Pooh Posted August 15, 2003 Posted August 15, 2003 Oh the poor pitty!! That made tears come into my eyes but also rage in my heart....how could someone write an article like this? Ban the OWNER for making the pit like this, NOT the breed! And just because ONE dog made a mistake why should they ban the whole breed? They said themselves that Rotts where cause of 24% of dog bites, then the GSD, then the Blue Heeler...where's the Pit? :-? It's not there! So why BAN it? Quote
Aroura Posted August 15, 2003 Author Posted August 15, 2003 Yes, I say ban the owner too. Did you see that dog? The poor thing looked so mis treated! How can they look at such an obviously mis treated dog and use it as a basis to say it is "proof" that they should ban the breed? So one Labradore gets in a fight, is that "proof" that the breed should be banned??? Oh I have to stop thinking about this, it is making me so angry that they can knock on peoples doors now and take their dog away and kill it, just because of how it looks! What if they banned Boxers? I couldn't comprehend how I would feel, having some stranger knock on my door and take Lily away to kill her, I couldn't possibly think of anything worse  One member of this forum is actually in this situation with her Pits in Queensland, fighting till the end, tearfully awaiting that dreaded knock at the door, symboling the death of her two very beloved pets, but I don't think she wants her name mentioned  Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 15, 2003 Posted August 15, 2003   Thats so sad. I feel bad for the dogs. Why ban pit bulls if they are responsible for less than one percent of dog bites? It just doesnt make sence :pissed: Quote

marion Posted August 15, 2003 Posted August 15, 2003 Did you look into the eyes of that dog, they drew me into it's misery.   I felt I could see into it's soul and it was crying out for help.   Ban the human race!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   or most of it anyway. marion Posted August 15, 2003 Posted August 15, 2003 Just sent my opinion, but I don't know if it will do any good. I can't get that dogs face out of my mind. Oh and we got Ollie tonight for a week, he was sat on my knee while I was typing and half way through he put his paws on the keyboard and submitted only half of my message. Had to press the back button and finish it of. They'll have half my message and then the full one, bet they think I'm some loony. Quote
mydogroxy Posted August 16, 2003 Posted August 16, 2003 i understand the sentiment of all the posts here. it is horrible that both dogs went through what they did. BUT there is nothing indicating that the mother dog was mistreated. she attacked another dog, which is dog aggression, a normal trait of pit bulls. she must have been quite aggressive to go through all that trouble to get to her pup, but that doesn't necessarily mean she was mistreated. courtnek Posted August 16, 2003 Posted August 16, 2003 that poor dog was abused. The idiots in tha article CHOSE to not see it. I HATE THE MEDIA!!!! :o :o :o Quote
mydogroxy Posted August 16, 2003 Posted August 16, 2003 you're making unsubstantiated statements. and though i appreciate the compassion behind them, i don't think jumping to conclusions helps. there is such a thing as a bad dog. are most of the dogs considered bad products of neglect and abuse? there's no doubt in my mind, but i do believe that there are dogs born with behavioral issues. i'm not saying this dog wasn't abused or that it was, or that it was born "bad" or even that it was bad. the fact is we don't know this dog's history or anything about the dog at all. it's fine to be angry about the situation, bsl is rediculous and they're using this poor dog as an excuse, but pointing fingers without having anything to back it up does nothing. GoldenLuv Posted August 16, 2003 Posted August 16, 2003 GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! BAN THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE THE PIT LIKE IT IS AND THE DUM PEOPLE WHO SAY AWFUL THINGS ABOUT THEM NOT THE BREED!! Poor Pup!! This is so sad                        Rio'sMum Quote
Aroura Posted August 16, 2003 Author Posted August 16, 2003 They have a have your say? Well in that case I definatly will!!! I didn't see it before as I was too infuriated to look any further  Roxy, I can see your point, but even if it was just naturally aggressive I would say there would have been some external factor to make it feel the need to scale the fence and rip the other dog to peices. She could have been used for fighting, maybe not but the look in the poor girls eyes was one of neglect and it nearly brought me to tears, only I was already too angry for that   Quote
