The other night after I got home from work, I was sitting outside with Jackie and Maya. I couldn't believe what I saw: Jackie snatched a flying bird out of the air! The bird was coming in for a landing (probably was aiming for the evergreen tree by Jackie), and Jackie jumped up a little bit and grabbed the bird right out of the air. There were three chirps, and then the bird was dead.

Then Jackie gave the dead bird to Maya and let her play with it. Neither of them ate it, they just played with it. I don't think they knew what to do with it. There was no growling or anything over the bird either.

Jackie really is an amazing hunter! I certainly hope nobody's pet rabbit or cat come into my yard! Jackie leaves the cats alone at the barn, but if one ran into her yard, I think she would go after it.

yummy!

Wow, that must have been an amazing catch. :o

Way to go JACKIE.....The flying bird dog.

But I must say.......Sad for the little birdy. :(
There will probally never be any birds in your yard anymore.

Freebee stalks and points at the birds, but would rather chase, corner andcatch squirrels.

You cant really take the hunting instinct out of them. Anything that runs, (or flies in this case) is fair game...

just hope the birds stay away...

Oh gosh! Poor bird. ...but what a hunter

Chelsea chases anything that comes into the yard too! Yesterday at the dog park, she was swimming in circles trying to catch the ducks in the lake. They would swim out and she would get tired and turn around, and then they would turn around, and she would notice them and turn back around..... tjhat went on until she was completely out of breath!!

Oh what a catch!!! I bet she was proud, my dogs are all jealous, want to know how she did it!!!
Actually Tessa caught a rabbit once, she was pretty proud of herself, even happier when I let her eat it!!! Oh, by the way, it was a wild rabbit!
