Camille0o0o0 Posted August 6, 2003 Posted August 6, 2003 Recently there was a post about house breaking a dog using a bell and the dog rings the bell to let everyone know it has to use the bathroom..my question is what kind of bell..I tried this on SAM and just got a little ding bell like they use in offices and even though he has the concept down it is hard for him to hit the sensor since the bell is so little...what should I do? Bentleythewonderdog Posted August 6, 2003 Posted August 6, 2003 I had a friend that trained her collies this way. She used the little jingle bells you see around Christmas time and hung them from the door knob on a string. I have seen a variety of jingle bell sizes in the stores, don't know if the small ones would work, guess you could group them and hang several together. Quote
Camille0o0o0 Posted August 7, 2003 Author Posted August 7, 2003 This was brought up to me by some other people too...but would it be hard to get him from pawing DOWN to swiping ACROSS? Quote
GoldenLuv Posted August 7, 2003 Posted August 7, 2003 I have a friend who used jingle bells and tied five down a string and hung it by the door so that it was a little ways below the dogs nose. The dog bumps it with her nose and makes it ring. I guess you could use paws too. Quote
