We installed a doggie door at home about 3 weeks ago, and all the dogs are finally using it. It is the best thing we ever bought!! (the only problem is Jake brings in all kinds of sticks and leaves to "play" with  )

How many of you have a doggie door?

I have one and couldn't live without it!!!!!!! We have the one that works with our sliding glass door. I love that the girls can go in and out whenever they want.....now to figure out how to keep the cat from using it. :-? :D

I had a doggie door put in about 3 years ago. It has been a wonderful addition. The dogs can go in and out while I am at work. I do keep it closed off at night for the most part. So far no other critters have made their way in via the door, well at least not live critters. I too have had to contend with things that should stay outside being brought inside. Also had problems with stuff meant to stay inside ending up outside. Really taught me to put my stuff where the dogs cannot get to it.

No doggie door (that's ok, bk can chew his way though the door if he wants to come in :D) but I am seriously wanting mum to get a cat door for Lily. You know when they get right up to the door (from outside) and cry to come in, then when you open the door they run away? And then repeat it 10 times as if it's a game? Heh. that's what lily does.

we put in doggie doors for our last dog, a large golden mix. It was wonderful! Except of course the inside things ending up outside & outside stuff coming in. One time a stray dog found its way inside & our dog did NOT like that at all!!! We had a big tub of water outside & in the summer our dog would go get in that, hunker down all the way, hop out & come running thru the house! Ya just can't be too concerned w/ how the house looks when you have a dog, huh :D .

The cat that recently adopted us came in thru the doggie door in the screened in porch - we were all sitting out there one evening & he just came right in, made the rounds, hopping on everyone's laps, & made himself at home.

We're getting ready to get a small dog. I haven't decided yet about opening up the doggie doors inside the house for her - of course, if we do, it'll have to be when she's full grown & can wear the invisible fence collar. Right now the cat is only allowed inside when someone is home but if we decide to open the doggie doors, guess we'll also be making the decision that he'll own the inside too.

No doggie door here! It would have to be huge and I would always worry that a human would come through it! :o :o Or maybe possums, skunks, raccoons, etc.!

Although I have always liked the idea of having a doggie door...so convenient. Never thought much about the trading of inside things for outside things before. :o

Behle, our doggie door is big enough for me to come though.

We put it in the external laundry door and our laundry is off our kitchen with a door to seperate them. We lock the internal laundry/kitchen door when we are not home so Indy is still free to come in and out of the laundry.

Ours is pretty big too. But you know, I figure if someone wants to get in, they will get in. With three dogs in the house, I wish them luck!! The one who I would be afraid of is Chelsea!!! She is our best watch dog :D
