lizzie Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 well, I live in a duplex, and my neighbor has a spaniel mix..... last night when I got home from work, she was outside, as usual she comes up and greets me she comes in my house, and I give her a treat, she then happily walks back out into the front of the plex's. Molly is the kind of dog that cowers down whenever someone goes near her!!! Today this did not help her situation. Her owner usually leaves her out front no fence, unsupervised!!!!! this always pisses me off, as we live next to a freeway (or last pitt jumped our 7' backyard fence and went looking for us, and got hit there) her dog stays close but their is no need for her to be outside, when she has a fenced backyard!!!! molly (the spaniel) wouldnt hurt a fly, she usually ends up in our back yard, bacause Olive and bozo dig a hole under the fence for her to come over and play, while we are at work!!!!! sneaky devils  any way, I was in the back yard filling up the swimming pool, when I heard molly screaming in horror, I quickly droped everything and ran outside to save her, from the stray PITT which quickly took off running with a small child!!!. Molly had ran to my door, not her own for safety our neighbor came out a few miniutes later and called molly, she asked if molly was ok, as if she cared!, I told her that she seemed OK, but that the stray had attacked her, she took molly inside and sure enough, molly was back outside within 10 miniutes    Did I mention that I hate my neighbor??????    :evilbat: It also looks like people have moved into the house right accross from us!!! I wonder if it was theirs??? Hope you guys dont mind my rant but how can you have an animal and not care???? this right here is a prime example of why my kide dont go out without a leash!!!!! I love pitts but the damn people that dont know how to properly raise them!!!! sorry for the rant Quote
GoldenLuv Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 This is so sad...I hate people like that too. Just want a dog for, well no reason. Who maybe thought it cute as a puppy and then it grew up and to them was a monster with no manners... I do not think that anyone should own a dog that they did not so any research on or know how to raise it. This just adds another "horrible story" to the pitbulls history caused by some idiot who tried to raise something they had no idea about... Well luck to you and your neighbors dog... Quote
ellieangel Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 Poor little Molly :( you just know this won't have a happy ending don't you :( How frustrating for you Lizzie :x Quote
courtnek Posted July 31, 2003 Posted July 31, 2003 hard as it may be, you should report them....for just this reason.... Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted July 31, 2003 Posted July 31, 2003 report mollys owner for neglecting her? or find out who the pit bull belongs to and report them? hell I'll just report them both, But it seems that the only safe place for molly, is our back yard!!! :o Quote
StarFox Posted July 31, 2003 Posted July 31, 2003 I agree with courtnek. I'd definitly report them to your local humane society/SPCA. Because god only knows what could happen to this poor dog if left outside. it oculd be hit by a car, mauled to death. Better that you report them and get the dog taken away then have it suffer. Well whatever decision you make, I wish you luck. It's never easy to report anyone for cruelty. Quote
mjriggl2 Posted July 31, 2003 Posted July 31, 2003 One of my wife's best gorlfriend recently got married. And they (the guy's WHOLE family) mived into a new house. They have a Pekingese. because of they don't want the dog to make dirty to the new big house, the Pekingese is kept OUTSIDE IN HOUSTON TX allday everyday!!! What the :bad-words: people they should try to wear a fur coat to stand in Houston in summer outside for 5 minutes, and they can immediately know they are booked in hell right away. I am trying to pursuade my wife to talk to her girlfriend to give this dog to us and we can always find her a good home. My wife doesn't want to hurt her friend's feeling... so the negotiation going on.... Sometimes, I really hate people. The Pekingese is such a sweet, she always STANDs to greet people. Quote
Rosebud Posted July 31, 2003 Posted July 31, 2003  I'll be the devil's advocate for the Pitt. You said that the Pitt took off running with a small child, well let me throw a pitt defense theory out. Let's say the child was trying to be a responsible owner and the pitt owner opened their front door to see what the pitt was so interested in; not knowing stray spaniel mix was in their yard; pitt darts out after spaniel mix, child chases pitt, you happened to come out to check on mix at about the same time child is getting to dogs. I wouldn't report the pitt owner until you find out who they are and their side of the story. Report Spaniel mix owners regardless. Quote
Daisysmom Posted July 31, 2003 Posted July 31, 2003 I agree too, half-way. Maybe you can talk to your neighbor about the "dog's protection" first. If this doesn't work, then I would turn her in. But, I would also look into turning in the other owner too. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted July 31, 2003 Posted July 31, 2003 You should report your neighbour in the duplex for sure! I know in Toronto you can't have your dog running around without a leash (Well and an owner attached to the leash). Maybe you have a similar law in your city? Call the humane society and see what they have to say. I hate people like this -- Why don't they just keep her safe in thier backyard? Wouldn't that make more sense? Can you have a discussion with these people and try to reason with them? Quote
lizzie Posted August 1, 2003 Author Posted August 1, 2003 well I can go on all day long on how our neighbors are drug adicts, and so on, there is no reasoning with them,   :evilbat: I live in the county, just a city block away from the city line, so you cannot call the regular aspca for things like that, not to put them down, but they dont really give a rats behiend about what people do around here. For instance, If I call the aspca on her, the shelter that takes all of the stray county animals around here is in Devore, about an hour and fourty five miniutes away..... they dont usually make allot of trips up here, I dont know why, because there are so mant strays, its not even funny, when walking our kids, we have to plan out where we are gouing based on who keeps their pets properly pinned up, weather in the house or the back yard! Sadly the only place that we are able to go is strait to the mailbox and back!! Olive almost got attacked, while walking her, 2 other pitts, squizzed their way through the fence to get at us,while we were walking by, thankfully, I was walking bozo, and quickly turned the other way, so he didnt see what was going on, and my hubby, was walking olive, (olive only being 3 months old thought that these dogs wanted to play) he quickly scooped up olive and hurried back home, with them following close behiend him watching and waiting for him to put her down, thankfully he didnt I have not seen those dogs ever since that incident, and I hope that they were taken away!!! :( I am sorry to say, but allot of people do not take care of their animals, and whats worse is that the people with the athority to change all of this, dont seem to care, or elce it would not be like this!! :( :( Quote
