A few months ago my family decided to get a puppy, but we had to wait until the end of the soccer season (with soccer training 4 nights a week and playing Saturday, we'd have no time to properly socialse and train another dog)now at the end of the soccer season my new puppy is becoming even more of a reality.YAY!!!
Now comes the hard part of deciding on the perfect puppy for us.I absolutely adore my 5 month old Staffy ,Brinnie, and want another one,I love their temprement and their Staffy smile. We were all set to bring another Staffy into our home,we'd contacted breeders around our area and started buying puppy things (toys, water bowls ect..SO MUCH FUN!!!).When today, while we were at our local dog beach,Brinnie loves the water and has so much fun with all the other dogs,we met the person who manages our local R.S.P.C.A (an animal refuge) and she told us about the GSD/rottie pups they have,we didnt see them but mum and I immediately fell in love with them and are thinking about bringing one of these special pups into our home. What should we do?

Tough Choice.. All i have to say is we have a Rottie/GSD and she's the best dog .. best temperment and everything (bsides her going throughthe puppy stage of chewing right now ) they are great dogs!!! save a life! if they are there, help out a puppy who really needs a home!

You MUST take Brinnie to meet them of course, but personally I am all for the GSD/Rottie - Shelter pups need homes badly - if you can save one and
really connect with the puppy, and Brinnie does do, then I say GO FOR IT!

We took Brinnie to see the puppies today, who are 13 weeks old and to cut for words!!She was wonderful with them.Had a sniff of them and decided she liked them, which was lucky because we fell in love with them to!!They played for a couple of minutes and were great,it was unbelievable how well they got on,I was so proud of Brinnie, especially since we got a few dirty looks as we walked past with her,a woman even muttered 'there letting one of those bulldogs in with pups,oh my'.
The only problem is convining my dad,he adores Staffies and really, really wants another one.But me and mum are going to win him over,we're taking him to see them tomorrow.......hahahah he wont be able to resist their gorgeous faces,i couldnt!
And Im voluntering in the shelter too,the only problem is you have to be 18  .But I turn 18 in 3 months and 10 days ,not that im counting down or anything

Since your dog did great with the pups at the shelter, I'd say pick the one that you think is the best match for you and Brinnie add him (or her) to the family!

My guess is your father won't be able to resist the pups once he meets them anyway! :D

I have a Staffie and I love him to death but rescuing a puppy that's in need of a home from a shelter is a great thing.

Good luck!

I took my dad to see the pups this morning,as we thought he fell in love with them.
He's still a bit hesitant though,he wants to research about rotties more first,so we can make sure we give the pup the best life possible.
Both mum and dad have had experience with German Shepeards before, mum used to do obidience trials with them.
Anybody with any info about rotties I'd much appriciate it,i really love these little guysand there's been interest from a couple of other people so fingers crossed we get to bring one into our lives!! :D

Bad news, all three of the little guys have found homes  .

Great news for them,i know, but I had fallen in love with them.

Oh well,I'l try again, there were some really sweet adult dogs there,I'd love to give them another chance at life.

Just got to convine dad...................

I volunteer at the local Humane Society and when we get puppies in, they're gone within a couple of days every time. Quite often they're gone the first day they hit the adoption floor! Whenever someone comes in expressing interest in puppies I have to tell them not to make a hasty decision but act fast! :-? It sounds ridiculous but if they don't act quickly there's no way they'll get one of the pups!

It's the adult dogs that I feel sorry for. They're often ignored when there are puppies available.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll find the pup that's right for you Staffie Chick. Good luck to you!
