courtnek Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 My son just came home with two ticks adhering to him - one on his leg and one under his arm on his right side......both small, probably picked up tonight. Where he got them? no clue.... My dogs appear to be tick-free however.... can I use Frontline on my kid? LOL Quote
Rosebud Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003    Unfortunately I don't think child services would agree to it, but not a bad idea. Quote
mommacat Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 How about a flea/tick collar??? You could paint it up, say it is some type of fashion statement!!!   Quote
Daisysmom Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 Ug!! They are soooooooo bad this year :x I'm sure he was grossed out!! Joe and I had some on us too when we took the dogs to a nature preserve :o Yuck!!! Just slip a little flea bath in his shampoo  Quote
Angelboddy Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 I have had no problems with ticks this year, but there are millions of yucky fleas. :eviltongue: Quote
Rosebud Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003  K napisaĆ(a):Rosebud...do we have to tell child services?...it can be our secret 8) Yeah, but does that mean that we now have ammunition for black-mailing Courtnek?   Just slip a little flea bath in his shampoo That's rather clever thinking. Just make sure your son knows that his "new" shampoo has to be left in his hair for 5 minutes before rinsing and change his body soap to a liquid soap too. Quote
courtnek Posted July 24, 2003 Author Posted July 24, 2003 LOL at all of you!!    He was undisturbed by it - walks in, goes to the bathroom, then yells out the door "Mom, how do you get rid of ticks?" His friend was there too, and altho he passes himself off as a tough kid, he wouldnt touch them. I handed him the needle nose pliers and told him to twist it at the head counter clockwise and pull it out, which he did. Then I made him stand still while I checked his back and neck and head and under his arms....where he cant see, that's how I found and removed the other one....his friend was like -God, how gross - you're a girl! how can you do that, girls hate bugs....." which got him a very withering gaze in return.... :D Quote
