I've seen so many pictures of Aussies with nice fluffy full coats.. which cody does not have ( well just his butt ) here's a picture in case you for got what he looks like lol... Anyone know anything about this> i',m just trying to figure out if he's got the coat he'll have as an adult, if it will change... etc.. spiritsmom Posted July 17, 2003 Posted July 17, 2003 A couple years ago our shelter took in a deaf double merle Aussie pup that was about 6 months old (breeder had sold him not knowing he was deaf and the owners brought him back to them and they took him straight to our shelter). His fur was just like your Cody's. He wasn't really fluffy like most Aussies are. But his fur was rather harsh to the touch, not soft. I don't know if that had anything to do with his breeding or not. You'll love the story about his breeder! They had a blue merle male and a tri female that were a breeding pair. The female died so they replaced her with another blue merle female because they liked the color so much. Here's the kicker - they did noy spay her (didn't want to breed her though) because they thought dogs mated for life and since the male's "mate" had died they thought he would never attempt to mate with the new girl. Apparently, he did not feel that way about his former mate and was very happy to breed the new girl and she had unexpected puppies. Nice breeder huh! Quote

Rufus's papers have him as a 'blue merle' but I don't know what that means :oops: Does Cody have different colour eyes - I've found that people are either fascinated or freaked out because Rufus has one brown and one blue. Gesh... no better then Cody's breeder, not knowing that having two blue merles will end up with 60% of the litter deaf/blind... gesh... Cody's fur is very soft.. i fall alseep just patting him ( he does too! ) as for his eyes. yes he has a very stunning crystal BLue eye and then a green eye with a little dot of blue on it.. soo beautiful. lol can't for get his "pig" nose as everyone calls it.. all pink and black.. i'd LOVE to see some pictures of Rufus!!!!!
