I took the horror dog to the shops today to buy him some lamb shanks as a treat. Whenever he goes out he wears his red bandanna and always gets lots of compliments on his dapper attire. As per usual I tied him up outside the supermarket and went in and got his meat. Also as per usual there was a sausage sizzle outside the supermarket selling snags etc for $2. I came back out from the shop and the guy running the bbq said to me (or to BK rather), "You'd better not tell your mummy you've been spoiled!" I said to the guy, "oh did you give him a sausage?" He replied, "no someone bought one for him!" :o  then he said, "how old is he?" I told him his age (almost 8), and he said, "ohh he looks like a puppy, he's really young-looking." Hmmm he acts like a puppy too- on steroids. I can't believe someone *bought* him a sausage. I think it's hysterically funny that someone spent money to feed my dog, who in addition to that sausage and his regular meal, is sitting in the backyard with a big fat lamb shank.  I'm wondering if it happens to anyone else's dog.

My hubby and I had taken the dogs to the store to get some new toys and decided to stop and get dinner on the way home. Well, we decided on fast food, Wendy's actually, and when we pulled up to the window to pay and get our food the lady saw we had the dogs and said how cute they were. Well, when she handed us our food she said, "I put two extra burgers in there for your dogs...I am a very big dog lover!" I thought that was really sweet!

No-one has ever done anything like that for mine
That's the trouble with the big cities I think they are so much less friendly :(
My 2 local pet shops always give them a treat when we take them in though :)

When we were returning from Chicago with our newly adopted Ben we pulled into a Burger King off the highway and ordered a meal for ourselves and a cheeseburger (plain) for him. The gal at the window spotted Ben (hard not to in the back of a mustang with the seats folded down) and started cooing and baby talking him out the window. When she passed out our sack of food she said, "I hope you don't mind, but I put in a whopper plain for your doggie -- he's just so cute!" Ben enjoyed his bought burger and his freebie burger....a real chow hound!

Every Saturday night we call the chipshop on the way home from the pub and they always put something extra in for the dogs. :D Last week we ended up with kebabs, another week sausages. I think it depends what they have left at the end of the night because :o we are nearly always the last ones in there. :o

I take Nostalgia trick-O-treating with use every year. She dresses up as a devil. But when we go to each door with my children, Nostalgia gets the, "awwww how cute" looks. Then they try to find something to give her.
So by the time we get home, she has had a very big snack! :o :D

Lucky BK!! Lily and Tess always get fussed over when I'm out with them, though I don't remember anyone ever buying anything for them!!! Though dad was once given a $20 kong from this guy at a pet shop after mentioning that we have a boxer. If I'm ever sitting at a cafe with the dogs people will say "can I feed it?" and give them little bits of cake and stuff, but nothings ever actually been ordered for them! I was telling someone once about my dogs, showing photos etc and he gave me $50 to buy them something special with! Its funny when you're in the shops and you leave your dogs outside and you come back to find someone going ga ga over them and as soon as they realise you own them they look all embaressed and walk away!

We were at Dairy Queen getting ice cream and had Kavik with us, we had already got our order and were sitting at the outdoor tables. Some guy came by with a plain cone and gave it to the dog and told us we were mean for not getting him a treat too (he was teasing of course.) Kavik adores ice cream by the way.

K - that is a lovely storey.

Gypsy always gets a humongous handful of beef sausage from papa john's. (the pizza chain) if you go through the bank window with your pup, they'll give him a dog cookie. I love the fed-ex lady that delivers my stuff now--she'll get out with a handful of dog treats.

I went through Dunkin Donuts with my Hopey dog and the girl at the window said she put in a cake donut for the dog! I thought that was very nice, and normally I don't give Hope people treats, but it was a special day (her first SAR training session) so I relented. She was very happy.
