Guest Anonymous Posted July 11, 2003 Posted July 11, 2003 Okay, when driving home today we saw The Husky (my fave rez dog) crossing the road from Petro on the rez, and we laughed cuz he was using the cross walk (dad had to slam on the breaks though :-? I really wish people would put a fence up along there, or keep their dog's tied up, they always get hit along there  ) and then I asked my dad if someone hit your dog on a cross walk, could you sue them? Cuz I know you can if you get hit by a car on a cross walk, but what about a dog? If a dog got hit there, could you still sue? Just wondering... I think you should, dog's have rights too... Quote
Daisysmom Posted July 11, 2003 Posted July 11, 2003 I don't think so. The dog shouldn't be wandering alone, leash-less any way...... Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted July 11, 2003 Posted July 11, 2003 Yeah, I know that... but around here, not too many people keep their dogs at home  Then like I said to you earlier... if a dog could be trained to use a cross walk, then what if people trained their dog that just to get the money? :o But yet again, if people knew they could get sued, they'd probably slow down/stop. I duno, I think there should be some type of law to keep dogs from gettin hit though... because it happens way too much in this town  Mainly on the rez, everyone owns a dog, and it's right on the main "highway" (we live in a small town) there's constantly dogs and kids running across that road. mouseatthebusstop Posted July 12, 2003 Posted July 12, 2003 :( it's the owners fault for not taking care of the dog :( Quote
ellieangel Posted July 12, 2003 Posted July 12, 2003 They could never sue for that surely !! No the responsibility lies with the owner, sad that people aren't more responsible :( Quote
