Ok, I posted earlier but for some reason my computer won't let me respond so I will try to start a new thread. Sorry.

Well, I have a pup that is peeing in her crate all of a sudden. She outgrew her old one, bought her a new one, and she promptly began peeing in it. She is not allowed water in her crate. I put her back into her smaller crate, she peed in there, too. She is now up to doing this 3-4 times a day!

When we are out going potty she will pee 5-6 times, in different places. I think she is gender confused! LOL!

Any ideas???

Well she is almost four months old and was adopted at eight weeks from a rescue organization. I am not a novice dog owner, but I swear, the weird things like this just cause me to draw a blank.

Nothing else has changed in her little life other than the crate and where I positioned it. I thought, well, maybe she is disturbed by my moving the new crate. Because of its size, it is no longer able to fit next to the other dog crate, but there is little I can do about this. Well, so sorry Miss Daisy, but there is just no room! So, I am all of a sudden faced with rushing her outside every 5 or so minutes or there is pee in the crate. She is the cleanest doggie in the world.

Any thoughts? Thanks a bunch!!! :Dog_run:

Have you taken her to the vet to see if she has a bladder infection or some other physical ailment that could be causing it? Maybe it's not behavioral.

K--no, for some reason my computer will not let me submit my registration!!! I have been having problems with it so I might have to register on my friend's computer when I go to visit!

meehs--actually, they did check her upon my request and found nothing, but I think I will insist upon another urinalysis if this continues. Poor pee pee puppy... :(

definitely take her to the vet, but also realize that the new crate my be upsetting her because her old crate was her den......

she may not feel truly "denned" in the new one....they dont need a lot of room in the crate - the perfect fit allows them to get up, turn around, lie down and that's about it. Anything bigger should be blocked so she has no room to move other than above. If they have more room then they need, they will pee in the crate becasue the dont feel truly denned....

in a wolf pack, the "den" area is where they slept - that's it - they would get up and move to the other side of the den, away from their sleeping area, to go. The mom wolf would eat the droppings to keep the den clean.
In a crate, you dont have a mom wolf, so you need to limit the amount of
room they have so they dont go in there.
