Kiger Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 His tail sticks out of the water like a furry dorsal fin. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 AWWWWWWE! That is just too cute! I just love how dogs look when they swim!! :D Quote
Horsefeathers! Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 That is too cute! Now I have some questions (you had to know it was coming). Since Kato is in "show coat," what measures do you take, if any, before letting him get into the pool? I let my Toy Poodle swim with me just about any chance I get (water's perfect and I've only been in twice this year :x ), but I am so paranoid about frying her coat. She's not a show dog or any such, but I always wet her down in the house and goop her up in conditioner before I let her into the pool. Overkill? Do you worry about coat damage? The main reason I'm curious is because I haven't quite taken the plunge and let my Standard Poodle (a pristine white) into the pool because I plan to use him for grooming competitions and I don't want to fry his coat (though he's nekkid now... go figure). Does the pool water (or salt water, for that matter) affect his coat at all? Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 brilliant :D they both look like good swimmers. Paddy only likes a paddle just gets his feet wet Quote
Rowie-the-Pooh Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 Omg! That is just too darn C-U-T-E for words! I saved it on my comp! Hmmm....a new breed, the Sholphin! Kato must be Photogenic! ALL his pictures are so cute and handsome! :D Quote
sheltielover Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 What excellent pics....they both look so cute!!!!! Quote
Kiger Posted July 9, 2003 Author Posted July 9, 2003 K napisaĆ(a):I bet Kiger is gonna be real irritating HF and just say "he gets out and shakes himself and he is dry and just perfect again" Not quite. Sometimes I hose him off with fresh water. :P I think as long as you rinse the chlorine water off, the coat should be fine. Saltwater will break the coat so you want to give them a bath if they go in the ocean. Quote
Kiger Posted July 9, 2003 Author Posted July 9, 2003 Here are a couple more with my husband: His tail wags when he swims: Quote
behle Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 Dang! I cannot see the "S.S. Kato", just the dreaded X! I can see HF's lovely swimmer! So cute! Quote

behle Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 Wah! :bigcry: :bigcry: Thanks for posting the links for me Kiger. But when I click on them I get the dreaded white "page cannot be displayed" screen. I do appreciate your thoughtfulness.... :( It might be on my end. We have a server here at the house and a wireless network connected to it for our laptops. Maybe it has to do with how this is all configured? I can't see pictures from Bahrain either, and they can't see mine. Can you see the ones I post? I'll try again later. Thankyou! Quote
nadooshkinz Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 THOSE PICS ARE JUST TOO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Quote
bk_blue Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 Awww what a cutie. He is so adorable!!! BK is funny when he swims, he just plunges right in and it take a few seconds for him to click that he's in water; kind of like he is thinking, "how the hell did I get in here?" Quote
Sanvean Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 So darling! His tail looks like a little rudder :) Quote
mommacat Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 He's SOOOOOO cute!! I bet he looks funny when he gets out - is he about half the size? Quote

JackieMaya Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 What cool pictures! I love seeing swimming doggie pictures! I haven't been able to take Maya swimming yet (I would have to have her on a long rope or something because I can't trust her off leash), but Jackie loves to swim. Quote
Carolk9s Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 Great photos! But now I'm jealous! I YEARN for a pool but it's just not practical at the time. I wish Jesse enjoyed swimming but he is refuses to enter clear water. A mucky puddle or lake, no problem. The dogs seem to really enjoy skinnydippin! Quote
behle Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 Hey! There's been a photo miracle! Today I can see your pics, Kiger1 He IS a cutie! And so is Kato as well!  I'm always so surprised at how small Kato is when he is pictured with a human. Seen by himself he looks like a much larger fellow! :iloveyou: Oh, that water looks so cooling.... :D I might have to go to my sister's house in town for a dip in her pool, followed by a chaser in her spa! I wish I had my very own.. :( Quote
