Malamum Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Seeing the pictures of poor Deafaussielovers kitchen chairs prompted me to start this topic. I'll start. Indy has got to the following: * Video remote control - totally destroyed * Lounge - 1 seat all ripped and stuffing everywhere. I managed to shove all the stuffing back in and sew the seat up but my sewing skills leave a lot to be desired :o * Bed sheet - ripped to shreds * countless socks and undies * attachement off my new vacuum cleaner There are lots of other little things but these are the main things I could think of at the moment. Angelboddy Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Believe it or not, Nostalgia has not destroyed one thing but her toys. (which her toys are fine to destroy) I am so very lucky to have not ever had that problem with Nostalgia. :D Quote
nadooshkinz Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 -The Neighbours! Well actually Polo used to gather the neighbours' kid's footwear and rip em to pieces... For a while we had Kiddie display of shoes in our garden! -And another certain Crazy neighbour claimed that polo was killing his birds.. -Then you have those who say he bit their 16-year-old son, and that the son had to have a shot! (now that is just babble because although he was a playful Pom he NEVER bit a single soul, and even if he had, He's had his shots so the bite wouldn't be harmful) And even when we tied him up in this puny space, the neighbours kids came and actually PROVOKED him! They'd be like Nah-Nah-Nah-boo boo! Then the neighbours deny that their kids have even left the house! I swear I wanted to sue!~ Ah well he's with another loving family and we've visited once or twice so... That's why if I get a dog I want him to be a puppy, so I can train him PROPERLY! Quote
gooeydog Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Goo- one window (broke the glass), three sets of window blinds (broken off to make a "window" for her to more easily see out the window), two window sills (tore to shreds by her nails when she'd climb up to look out fore-mentioned window), one table (fixed up ok with some sandpaper), some socks, numerous blankets (we learned quickly and gave her one of her own), a couple remotes (hey, those buttons are hard to push when you don't have fingers  ). Annie- several rugs from her fondness for peeing on the floor whenever the opportunity presents itself, knocked a few things off shelves/tvs trying to get to toys that were put up there when she was getting too annoying with them. Casey- shoes, socks, she used to go into my room while I was at school, raid the trash or steal something, then lay on my bed and chew it up :o :-? Joey- several leashes, underwear, trash, a few school papers (we didn't realize he'd been paper trained until I came one day to find he had "soiled" a paper I'd left laying on my bedroom floor  ) Haley- a table and numerous other things at her previous home, several boxes of my mom's cigarettes (she was looking out for her health  ), a box of blank CDs, a storage box, numerous boxes of tissues. Deez Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Well... Belle used to be well-behaved... But I DO remember her biting up all my slippers... Quote
StarFox Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Ok..let me see. -One Snadal -6 pillows (2 of them were his own) -a feather duster -all the kitchen chairs are chewed up (not as bad as Deafaussielovers though  ) -One of my brothers shoe -one kitchen rug -2 dozen stuffed animals -1 plastic pill bottel (no pill in it though thank goodness) -3 shirts -1 plastic food dish -a mini basketball -3 leashes -numorous plastic bags -a cup of instant soup -3 pajama pants -a wind up bunny -several potatoes -a full bucket of freeze dried liver treats that cost 20 bucks (oh he was soo sick from that) -1 lace cloth -a few kitchen dish towels -5 pot holders -a sweat shirt Ok that's all I can think of right now but there is allot more. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Leo has enjoyed chewing quite a few of my things especially when he was younger. 5 shoes Countless pairs of socks, shirts and underware Many stuffed toys and the sofa (picture attached) Quote
Daisysmom Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Welcome Clara!!! Okay: Daisy Just about all the wooden kitchen chairs, the wood work in the kitchen, the kitchen floor by the basement door, the girls' hair ties the recycling bin outside and of course, her favorite SOCKS :o Chelsea: Flip flops (loves them) my slippers Jake: Newspapers Quote
Angelboddy Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 OMG! :o Looking at all the things your dogs have gone through, Makes me feel so blessed. I don't know why she has never chewed anything? And I would leave my shoes and other things laying around and she would never go after them as a pup. :o I feel like my dog and I are an odd-ball now. :-? Has anyone ever had a pup like mine that was such a good pup, that they never chewed on anything but their own toys? I feel so strongly that my black lab that passed away is now reincarnated into Nostalgia. How else can I explain why she is soooooo good. Quote
sheltielover Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Honey's favorite thing has always been chewing clothes...especially underwear. But she also loves to get into trash cans and chew tissues and old wrappers into tiny, itty-bitty pieces. When she was a pup she would gather all the shoes that my mother would leave laying around and put them in a pile in the middle of the living room but would only maybe chew one shoe. And if we left the bathroom door open, she would drag the toilet paper off the roll and all of the house. Now, when licky was a pup....she chewed the end plug off of my hair dryer, chewed the end off of the cell phone charger, chewed the corner of our less then 24 hours old coffee table....but now, her favorite thing is chewing holes in our sheets. Quote
Carolk9s Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Let's see, magazine, books, newspapers shredded all over the living room. A photo album had it's cover chewed entirely off. A heavy glass ashtray was pulled off a table and broken. My alarm clock mysteriously disappeared, I went out back with a flashlight and found it's remains. I FOOLISHLY left (2) 40 lb bags of top soil IN the house cause I was in a hurry-duh! Came home to find the contents of both bags ALL OVER THE LIVING ROOM RUG. There was actually a thick haze in the air. I had a piece of eggcrate foam folded and wrapped in a sheet, it was in Candy's crate/my end table. It got pulled out and destroyed, little bits of yellow foam everywhere. Videotapes chewed to bits. One of Candy's 4th place agility ribbons. A box of Kleenex. Years ago, Brittany got hold of a bottle that had diuretic pills in it. Thank goodness I had a roomate at the time, he found the chewed bottle and took her right to the vet. She spent the day getting fluids to counteract any action of the pills. Came home to find the mini blinds ripped off the wall and spread out on the floor once. That was Jesse, I forgot to raise them before I left and dang it he could not see! Quote
primabella Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Mickey is usually supervised so he doesn't get to destroy much. He has chewed up the window sill pretty bad (not as bad as Horsefeathers though :o ) He has chewed up my mom's flower pot (and gotten to most of the dirt). I'm lucky he isn't too bad with chewing. My dad's main concern with a dog was that it would chew up the bottom of his big screen TV. :P Quote
ellieangel Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Wow I don't feel so bad after reading this !!!! Ellie used to be terrible she would even pinch the kids colouring pens when they put them down on the table !! Rio has EATEN my 3 piece suite and we have just scavenged a second hand one to replace it and swapped the rooms around so that he is now left in the dining room and there is much less for him to get a5t in fact so far the only thing he has done in a week is tipped over the goldfish bowl I thought at first he had eaten them until I found that he had hidden them in his bed :eek2: When Ellie was younger she would chew up anything at all but now she is much much better and she hardly ever touches anything now  Mind you neither of them can resist a pair of pants :eating: :nono: Quote
Bentleythewonderdog Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 My little one goes after the toilet tissue. We have to keep the restroom doors closed or he will completely unroll an entire roll of tissue. Some how he can even manage to keep huge lengths still attached to the roll so that it can reach all the way into the living room. Of course it's his favorite game, he will come dashing at super sonic speed thru the living room with the tissue hanging out his mouth in hopes that the chase will began, from that point it's shredded into tiny bits with us all trying to catch him. He will even hide some tissue in my sons room for a game at a later date. He's cute and tiny and I think it's funny so he gets away with it. I figure it pretty harmless. Quote

behle Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Angelboddy - My rottie, Max, has never destroyed a single thing. He is a very good boy! So you do have some company. Ben, our saint, has only ever chewed a couple pair of my husbands briefs (when he had mild separation anxiety after moving to our new old house). It just seems that hubby couldn't quite get them to go into the hamper just one foot away from where he put them on the carpet! :-? Ben has now given up chewing since he now feels safe here and knows we are never going to leave him permanently! I do feel fortunate to have such non-destructive dogs right now. In the past we have had some chewers.. Quote
Daisysmom Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 My big difference is that Daisy wasn't crate trained. Hopefull Jake will be better and Chelsea is already better than Daisy  Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Hi friends.. it's been a while! Saw this thread and just had to reply They have destroyed...their bed, their toys, the cord to the vacuum(that will teach me to leave the cord untied), slippers, rattan furniture, sweaters, countless blankets, and probably much more that they have done a great job of hiding Just think, all these things ruined and these dogs moved in here last october LOL ~Jessie Quote
