Angelboddy Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 This poor guy has no home. :( He is such a handsome boy. I hope someone will adopt a 8 year old. I'm affraid that since he is 8, that no one will want him. :( Alaskan Malamute Size: Large Age: Senior Sex: Male I.D: 109476 Notes: Duke is a gorgeous purebred Alaskan Malamute. He is eight years old and is used to being indoors. He will need to be neutered when he is adopted. He was put up for adoption on 6/30. Malamum Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Oh what a shame, poor guy. I don't undstand how someone could have a dog for 8 years and then just give it up   . It is always so much harder for older dogs to find homes. :( Though, I would say he is an Alaskan Malamute/Siberian Husky cross. From the picture he looks like he has blue eyes, Mals don't have blue eyes, only brown. Quote
Deez Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 It's not fair!! I wish I could adopt him... It makes me hurt to see this handsome boy, with no home!!! Quote
LisaLQ Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Maybe his owners didnt just dump him at the shelter, perhaps there were good reasons, owner illness or even death. :( Poor thing, and I'd hardly class an 8 year old as senior - although I don't know the average life expectancy of a malamute, I know many dogs can live to nearly twice that age. Middle aged might have been a better description. :) Bless him, hope he finds a good home soon. I know over here in the UK malamutes are very popular, and pretty rare in rescue - is it the same over there? Lisa xx Quote
Angelboddy Posted July 7, 2003 Author Posted July 7, 2003 It's not very common here in Missouri. But I don't know about other states. I know that they have several rescues here for pure breeds. But I don't think they have a rescue here for Malumutes. :( And that poor guy is in a hot and humid shelter right now. I know that because I volenteered there, and they have no air conditioning. :( Poor guy has got to be soooooo hot with that heavy coat. :( Quote
ellieangel Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 He is so beautiful .....if he was over here snowpaws would snap him up for sure !!!! He definately looks a lot like a sibe he looks just like Kodi :-? And I agree with Malamum those eyes look very blue to me  Quote

Rowie-the-Pooh Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Oh! I really wanna adopt him! It's so sad! There may have been good reasons yes, but it seems most likely he came from a bad owner, as he is not nuetred, but you never know! He reminds me of the Sheltie in the Shelter in Atlanta (the one we saved!), when I saw his picture I was like :"Whoa! I gotta save him!" You know, you get that feeling sometimes? Like, "I gotta save him!" or "He/she is mine!". It's weird...I really wanna save him! (Calling Sheltielover...) Adorable! And he does look more like a mix too me, too! He's really beautiful too! Angel, do you know anyone in Missouri who can adopt or foster him? :) Quote
Angelboddy Posted July 7, 2003 Author Posted July 7, 2003 Rowie- I'm not sure? I will have to ask around and see. And of course my hubby won't let me foster him, Or I would in a heart beat. He does not need to be there in that heat and humidity. I feel so bad for him. :( Quote
