Max feels better, but Good Grief! Yesterday evening we sat out by a campfire and had Ben and Max outside with us the entire time. Max is feeling much better due to the Deramaxx. Some of the swelling is subsiding, but now you can see just how big the knot is on the affected joint! :o

At any rate, Max now thinks he is "all better" and I spent a good deal of my time trying to curtail his outside exploration and play! He made several covert forays into the edge of the woods and wound up the evening laying underneath the front-end loader waiting for some small creature to reappear! I did manage to forstall the regular "clash of the titans" that normally happens before the boys re-enter the house!

So Max is feeling much better. He gets his pain pill in the morning and his G/C pill with his evening meal. I have not heard back from the vet, so today I will give them a call to see what the ortho thinks from Max's x-rays.

I'm glad max is feeling better...its good your not letting him over exert himself...some times when they are on those pain killers they can do more damage to the area because they feel better.
Let us know the out come of the x-rays...if its a ruptured cruciate ligament that is a very common surgery, the out look is very good for a complete rehabilitation...my Newf who had the cruciate surgery came through wonderfully, I had to keep her from normal activities and alot of rest for a few weeks...that is very important after the surgery...

That's wonderful news Behle. :D You lucky thing, I wish I had been there by your campfire. :( I hope Max wasn't trying to fell any trees now he thinks he's Arnie again.

Max gets to see the surgeon for an evaluation on Thursday, June 26. That's the earliest appointment I could get! So I will have to keep an eye on him so he doesn't ram around like he usually does!

Well, I'm relieved. I just got off the phone with the vet's office and Max is through his surgery and is doing just fine. I get to pick him up at 8:50 tomorrow morning!!! :D At that time I'll be able to find out exactly what they had to do to repair his stifle...

His brother Ben misses him....he has been moping around all day. When I got back home after dropping Max for surgery Ben was so excited! He ran outside and loped up to the car and looked inside.....but....NO MAX! :o His tail drooped and he plodded back inside with me turned his nose up at his breakfast (unheard of!), and has been shooting accusing glances at me in between his naps.
