Anyone who knows anything about Clumber Spaniels?

Does any of you know anything about this breed? I'm happy with my cockers, but I think these guys are really adorable! (And there's always room for one more dog in the family  )

I haven't seen one for many years, I guess they're quite rare, at least where I live.

I found this, what a little heartbreaker...

Yes, they are just beautiful, aren't they! They have something slightly "miniature St. Bernhard'ish" about them, makes me want to :bigok: and :buzi: them!

Here are some pictures:

Aren't they cute? One of the faq sheets I saw said that some believe that the St. Bernard may have been involved in the development of the breed!

Ohhh, look at those faces in the two last pictures!!!!!! I want one!! :bigcry: Thanks, Behle, lovely photos!

I didn't know that the St. Bernhard could be a part of the development, it really makes sense, though. The head study really shows some similarities, don't you think?

:mdrmed: hi hi - big mouth, big ball! I'm definately in love... They have this cute rolling walk, that I also think the Basset Hound has. I think they're a bit calmer than the other spaniels, too. I love the "stress" and energy of the dogs in the sporting group, but after having cockers, english setters and german pointers with LOTS of energy, I think I'm ready for my next dog to be sliiiiightly more laid back.

Now, let's see if I can manage to insert that picture..

I know a real Clumber!!!!
Her name is Cleo and she belongs to a friend of my hubbys that he used to work with.
She is a looney when playing but much more laid back than my springer....go for it they are beautiful

Thank's Ellieangel! Cleo is a beautiful name for a Clumber!

How is Cleo when she's playing/running? Is she very "slow"? I use to take my dogs with me when I'm jogging, and the Clumbers look a bit "slow" in a way. But I guess if a cocker can keep up with me, a Clumber can, too (doesn't take that much, really  )

How about grooming? I would guess they're easier to groom than both the Springer and the Cocker? And are they as social to people/dogs as the other spaniels?

Sorry to bombard you with all my questions, it's just that I want to know as much as I can about them!

Mille :D
