Ok, I've been doing alot of research on Dobes. I always have, I love Dobes, they're really great! :D

Anyway, on Google Images, I typer up "Dobermann" and loads of beautiful pics came up....

One of them was a Dobe no dock, no crop:

And one was of the Dobes a long time ago... :o

Can you belive it?! WOW! Look at the difference!

WOW! I find out something new everyday... :D

:P Thanks for posting theoes pics Rowie. I've always LOVED dobies too...and I was planning on getting one in a few years so Zebra would have a play mate.

They look like two different dogs when one is un croped and the other is, huh?? I prefer the Cropped look. but everyone I know says they think they look ugly and mean when they are cropped...i think they look more sleek and beautiful. :P

In the old pic they look more like Rotties...just goes to show how much a breed can change over the years.

LOL Star!

I know, they look alot like Rotties! :o

I've ALWAYS wanted a Dobe, and I remember once when we went on holiday, at our hotel there was this BEAUTIFUL red/rust Dobie pup, about 4 months old, that day I VOWED I would get a Dobe before I die!

I prefer the un-cropped look, although the cropped makes them look really elegant! :D If I get a Dobe I'de have the un-cropped look. Just my personal opinion tho... :D

Glad there's another Dobie lover here! I know there's NancyB and ellie angel too! :D

Poor Dog:

That one's a rescue...

OH LOOKIE! Un docked!

Ok  As much as I don't like docking, I must say that a docked Dobe is much more beautiful! The long tail gets in the way...but it's really beautiful either way, the Dobe! :D

I love dobies, but even more so with intact ears and tail, they are so much more beautiful that way :D
Over here in the UK, all dobies have intact ears, as ear cropping is illegal, just tail docking that continues.
They're lovely dogs though, I used to live near someone who had a young male dobie, and took very good care of him, - you'd see him parading down the street with his halti on (he was a bit of a handful apparently!) looking so gorgeous, but everyone would cross the road (assuming he was a vicious dog, they did the same with my Sky, a lurcher!).
I love them, beautiful hounds :D

I agree! I really hope sometime in the future, when I have my own place, a big yard, finished college, am more knowldged about the breed, and have the money and time, to own a Dobe. :D

Rowie,
Thanks for posting all the photos. I had never seen a dobie before without a docked tail, I really like that long tail! I had no idea the tails would curl or hook like this. Beautiful natural dogs!

Your most welcome Carol! :D

I know, I was surprised too! :o The tail is long, and then curves, kind of like an Afghan Hounds, beautiful ain't it? :D

I want a Dobie! :bigcry: But I know right now isn't the right time... :D
