What a very sad story. That poor bassett hound.
I can't believe she left her detergent on the floor in the first place.
What if the bassett tried to drink it.
Those kind of people make me made.

It looks as if he was layed in acid, or burned.
That poor pup, I hope he makes it!
We use tide but not the liquid tide, and our tide is up very high on a self where the kids and dog can not get into in.
I wonder if the powder form does the same as the liquid?

te powdered kind is only very dangerous when wet....although it will cause some skin irritation, as it says on the box. Alot of detergents come with
chlorine bleach already mixed in, or bleach substitues (color safe) which are also detrimental tot he skin.....

dogs are like kids. They'll get into anythng and everthing they can.
I wish these people had realized that. How many dogs/cats die each year from drinking antifreeze? It tastes like Koolaid!!

People need to be more careful....

   poor puppy. I tend to border on the side of paranoia when it comes to Indy, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I just don't leave ANYTHING in harms way.

This is a very sad case of this happening. but did you all know that household chemicals result in the death of more children and animals than gunshot wounds?!!! THis is happening to our dogs and our children. I hope everyone realizes that these products are terrible :evilbat: .PLease email me if anyone would like to find out where to get products that don;t have to be kept on the shelves, the are just as good, if not better than the toxic chemicals and they get delivered right to your door! :D
Trust me, I have a bulldog and we researched a lot before we got her and one of the biggest things is to use nontoxic products because there aorways can be so bad.

WOW......I had no idea that laundry detergent would do that to an animal. I keep all mine up too, but makes u wonder what it does to us too. I would never use detergent to wash my dog either, but wouldn't have thought it would cause such severe damage. Thanks for the article and the info. :o
