A week ago I saw an online ad for a free to good home (unspayed) Shiloh Shepherd located about an hour from my house. Well...... I went and got her today! The owner was given her when she was a puppy and does not know who the breeder is/was. She has been an outdoor (chained up) dog since she was 7 months old and she about 3 1/2 years now. I'll be getting her spayed as soon as I comb out all her mats and bathe away all the mud caked to her. She looks a lot better than I feared! Her temperament is outstanding! She doesn't seem to like female dogs (might be from being intact?) but she tolerates Mystic and Spirit because they are very submissive. She doesn't want to come in my house so I guess I'll have her sleep on the deck tonight and work on crate training her tomorrow.

She's going to be an awesome pet for someone!

Her name is Shyloh, but I'll be changing it. I'm not actually keeping her for myself, although I'd love to! I will be placing her for adoption through work and will be screening applicants for her. I imagine I won't have her for long, Shilohs tend to get adopted fast.

She's gorgeous - stick her in an envelope and airmail her over to me  (kidding!)
Hope she finds a great home soon, and in the meantime I hope she's a good girl for you - she's beautiful! :D

She's a beauty! Good luck on the fostering....I would find her hard to give up! I hope things go smoothly for you as you work with her and screen applicants to find her the best possible home.

She's like a 90 pound puppy because she just doesn't know anything, never been trained.

I live in southwest Ohio, but my dad lives in Northern Virginia (Ashburn, near Leesburg/Reston/Herndon) and I'm visiting him later this month.

She did great overnight and I think I can crate her tonight - she was very bouncy this morning and happy to see me!

Lovely, lovely girl!

Oh, and U live not to far away... :( . My dad says he'd love to have a dog like that, but of course my mom says absolutly not. We even looked into getting a Shiloh from a breeder... they are really hard to find... I wish her the best of luck finding a home. Where ever she goes I'm sure she'll be happy.

She's soooooo pretty. I always wanted a Shiloh. I couldn't find a breeder that was close to me so I settled for a GSD. She deserves a great home and I'm sure she'll find one. Good luck with her while you have her. I hope she finds her home soon.

Shyloh is getting along very well, I simply adore this girl! After 3 hours of grooming last night she is now shiny and nice smelling! I had to cut away her front leg feathers, they were just caked with mud!

She is being spayed as I write this, I have to go back to work later tonight to pick her up. They had no surgeries scheduled today and since her spay will take a long time they figured we should just do it today. Heartworm negative and she got her interceptor. She'll be microchipped today too.

She has found that beds and couches are extremely comfortable! She slept by my bed last night (didn't crate her) and this morning she leaped onto the bed when I woke up to lick me to death!

She absolutely LOVES little Mystic, thinks she's the greatest thing since sliced bread. They romped around this morning and Mystic got her to play with a ball that they shared. She won't play with toys on her own. Then they took turns licking each others mouths and faces. Maybe she knows that Mystic is a Shiloh too since she doesn't play with the others like that? She likes to chase Miles in the yard and really moves fast, but not as fast as him.

And now Shyloh doesn't want to go outside at all! I had to go out with her this morning to get her to potty! It's like she has realized how nice it is to be inside and doesn't want to lose that privilege! Poor mixed up girl!

Everyone at work thought she was just beautiful! I kept her in the grooming room we have and she was so quiet and just slept all morning.

She clacks her mouth alot especially when she's being petted, not sure what that's about! She doesn't much like treats, prefers being petted so that will be my reward for her during training. She just craves attention and relishes being loved!

She makes me want to cry just because she seems SO happy to be in a home and getting love and attention. This morning she wouldn't eat her food unless I was nearby - she wanted to make sure I wasn't going to just leave her. It breaks my heart! I think that woman rehoming her is the best thing that's ever happened to this dog, she can now have a real life!

She did chew away a corner of my backseat and chewed the seatbelt in half, but I don't care about the car seat, it's fixable. It's the dogs' car anyway so I don't care!

Shyloh has just grabbed at my heart since I saw her online ad. I knew I had to get her and even though I can't keep her, I know that she will get plenty of love and attention now. I just can't see how people can keep their dogs like that, it's so sad for them.

I'll take more pictures of her tomorrow and post them. Her former owner has said it had been awhile since she'd been brushed because she wouldn't sit still long enough to brush her. Well last night I had her laying at my feet while I spent about 2 hours brushing her and clipping fur away without any problem, she never moved except when I moved her. She's already very focused on me and just wants to please me which just shows her resilient nature.
