My fiance and I have been arguing for a while over what to do with Macy's coat. I wanted to grow it out to show length, he wanted it short. I didn't like most of the clips I saw for Maltese, but I LOVE the way this little darling is done:

What do you think? (Click on "album" for a bunch more photos.) And how do you think the fur on the top of her head is done -- I can't tell if it's brushed back or clipped very short.

Oh! The little Mimi is a darling! :D I LOVE her clip!

It really depends on you. Is it hot where you live? Then maybe a shorter clip. If it's OK, then you can keep it medium sized or even long. You and your fiance should work out an agreement. I think your little darling is fine the way she is though! But you two should work out an agreement....

Mouse: I agree, a dog wearing clothes is sad.... :(

Yes, the clothes are a wee bit silly, but she doesn't seem to mind. She looks like such a happy little dog :)

We live in Michigan...it's quite hot in summer but it gets very cold in the winter. I'm thinking a shorter clip like Mimi's; less work, plus we can always put a coat in her in the winter.

Personally I think the Maltese has a great coat the way it is. I'm not into the bows and dressing up people do for their dog but I have to admit Mimi is adorable! I'm sticking to what Rowie suggested: a shorter clip, but not as short as Mimi's.
