Kiger Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 "The Beave" is going away to a show with his breeder. It's for a major and she was nice enough to take him for me. I don't know what I'm going to do with out him all weekend though. (Probably repair all the damage he did.) Quote
Rosebud Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 :D I say repair the damage, secure everything down with bolts, paint the walls and sills with Teflon and have a cup of tea and a hot bath Sunday night, you might be lonely without him now but the day will come when you beg the breeder to take him just so you can have a night off. Quote
Kiger Posted May 23, 2003 Author Posted May 23, 2003 You know my chinchillas can eat through metal. Perhaps they would survive in K's house? :o Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 a little off topic.. but your dog is beautiful kiger :) Quote
Kiger Posted May 23, 2003 Author Posted May 23, 2003 They don't pee outside the cage but they do fling poo everywhere. :o And thanks! Jessica1623 napisał(a):a little off topic.. but your dog is beautiful kiger :) Quote

Rowie-the-Pooh Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 Awwwww, it's OK Kiger! :D Remember, he will be back! :evilbat: Quick, repair your window sill! :o He is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Quote
Kiger Posted May 24, 2003 Author Posted May 24, 2003 K napisał(a):how do you cope with all the fresh fruit and veggies and vitamins they need?...I was looking after just one once and it blew my mind the list of requirements and the daily feeding regime was a nightmare. Huh? What? No one told me that! They get chinchilla pellets and alfalfa cubes. Nothing else, and they are going on 10 years old. Dern rodents won't die! Are you thinking of a sugar glider maybe? Those critters are hard to feed. And they have a little plastic house with a hole in one side that you add dust to. It mostly stays inside the house. Mostly. Quote
Kiger Posted May 24, 2003 Author Posted May 24, 2003 Here's one of the evil little creatures now... Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted May 24, 2003 Posted May 24, 2003 AWWWWWWWWWWWE! LOOK AT THOSE EARS!! How could you not love such a cute little animal!! :D Quote
StarFox Posted May 24, 2003 Posted May 24, 2003 Awww! what a cute little guy/girl?? I have a rabbit and he flings his poo out of the cage too.. Quote
bk_blue Posted May 24, 2003 Posted May 24, 2003 Hey they are pretty cute- don't know if I could put up with the poo flinging though. 8) Quote
Kiger Posted May 24, 2003 Author Posted May 24, 2003 They do like fruit and stuff, but I only give them raisins for snacks. Oh, and I forgot to mention the part where they aim a stream of pee at your eyes if you upset them. Quote
behle Posted May 24, 2003 Posted May 24, 2003 You have got to be kidding! A stream of pee! :o Gross! And these are the little critters I thought I might like to have one day?! I think I better pass on them..... Glad I read this post! Quote
Kiger Posted May 24, 2003 Author Posted May 24, 2003 They only do it if they are nervous. Only one of mine has ever done it and it was when I first got him. I went to pick him up and startled him. He shot out a stream of pee. Maybe this is where the phrase "scaring the pi$$ out of you" comes from? Here's another neat pet I had. This is big Bubba the Purple Tang: Unfortunately when we moved last year, we couldn't figure out how to move his tank without possibly killing him, so I gave him to another saltwater hobbyist with an even bigger tank. I hope I can get another one assembled one day. Quote

With that my chinchilla sprayed a stream of pee directly into my husbands eye  My husband staggered round the room with his hands covering his eyes screaming.....he thought the chinchilla had blinded him....but it turned out that when he was holding his hands over his eyes he was pressing on his eyes too hard which stopped him from being able to see for about 10 seconds   Quote
imported_Debbie Posted May 26, 2003 Posted May 26, 2003 All those lovely attributes are probably why so many have been turned into fur coats !!  (just kidding) Quote
Bubblezzz Posted May 26, 2003 Posted May 26, 2003 :o :o :o Wow. I really wanted one of those a couple of years back. Boy, I'm glad I held back for a DOG. At least Floppy & Cosmic never aim their pee at me. Not intentionally anyway. Quote
