mydogroxy Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 here's the situation: roxy was spayed today. the vet explained that she may be sick during the day as an after effect from the anethesia. but she's thrown up three times since we brought her home and she refuses to drink any water. is this normal? Mama A.J. Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 Don't worry too much...I think she should be fine. It could be the way she is reacting to all that went on, or the medication that she is on. Keep a good eye on her, she probably will not want to touch food or water for a bit, that is also normal. If you get too worried, just give the vet a call...I'm sure it will make you feel good to be reassured. But honestly, I think she should be okay. Hopefully she gets back to normal soon. (((hugs))) to roxy. :) Quote
mydogroxy Posted May 20, 2003 Author Posted May 20, 2003 looks like everything is fine with her. she hasn't thrown up since last night, and she's been drinking a little and ate a few bites. Quote
courtnek Posted May 21, 2003 Posted May 21, 2003 different animals (and people) react differently toanesthesia... she's probably going to be fine :D Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted May 21, 2003 Posted May 21, 2003 I'm glad Roxy is feeling better! Both of my girls had been spayed before I got them, so I didn't experience what they went through, but I'm sure it wreaks havoc on their system for a few days. Quote
