Hi:
I am soon getting a Chi, (I am adopting a beautiful 4 year old, 4 lbs.), does anyone have suggestions as to which brand food would be best. I imagine he probably needs very small pieces, since he is so tiny. I've never had a dog this small before, so this is new to me.
Thanks!!

Hi:
Thanks for the suggestion. I was actually hoping for more of a mini solid food available at pet stores. The doggy I am getting is 4 years old, so I think he can and should probably have solid food.
Any other suggestions?

Hi:
Thanks again! I don't think they have that brand here, but I will definitely look for a canned product. It sounds like your dogs are VERY lucky, I wish someone would make me fresh chicken each day :)
Thanks again!

Hi:
I am going on Saturday to see him. I have to fill out an application etc. I am not sure how the process works. Hopefully I will have him very soon though. I am VERY excited!!

Thanks!! Please think about me on Saturday, and keep your fingers crossed for me. Silly superstitions, I know, but it can't hurt.

I don't know how. I already have a photo of him, but I don't know how to post it on here.

You might want to consider staying AWAY from canned or 'wet' food for your chi. If you can feed a quality kibble I think that is a better idea. Why? Because of their teeth. Canned or wet foods can increase the tarter build up on those tiny teeth. If the dog you get is already on a certain kind of kibble and doing well, probably a good idea to stick with it. Little dogs have just as many teeth as big dogs, all crammed into a tiny little mouth. Yes the teeth are smaller too but there is still just so much room in there and tarter builds up quickly.

Thanks! I will definitely ask what he currently eats, and stick to that. I don't know why I didn't just thinkof that :)
