Ok, as you know Ben was sick here a while ago (threw up). He hasn't thrown up since, exept for today when mom gave him his first big meal and he started eating it like he's never had food before and just minutes after that threw it all up.
Now he's allso had his feecies a bit... well not diharrea, but... loose... (you know?)
And now it's MY turn. Now I have diharrea! (Well it does explain why I have been feeling sick lately...)

Is there any bacteria that can go from humans to dogs or from dogs to humans??

I mean... I haven't been eating anything that's gone bad and neither has Ben. I haven't been out with a lot of people who might have had a stomache bacteria or anything like that.... And I just got a bit worried...

Well... got to run to the bathroom (again)!

Awww. I am sorry your not feeling well now. I'm not totally sure about animals and humans sharing germs, but I do know that my nephew got a touch of bronchitis and he lives with my parents. Well, my parents dog started coughing pretty bad and they took him to the vet....he caught what my nephew had!!! Not sure if that helps any, but I sure do hope you feel better real soon.

Thanks, sheltie... I havn't heard that dogs and humans can share germs... I'm glad that I came here! My mom has been feeling a bit bad too lately, but she hasn't had this problem that I am having... well not yet atleast...

Do you think this could be a germ from Ben or something??

God Crested, I only asked you earlier if Ben was okay. I hope I haven't jinxed him. It might just be a tummy bug, also you can pick germs up when people don't wash their hands after using the toilet :x :x :x , these can be anywhere, :x :x :x handling money etc. Hope you both get better soon :D

There's a lot of gastro enteritis round here at the moment. I've had tummy pains and the dreaded D for over a week now and it doesn't seem to be getting much better. Dosed up on painkillers.

Actually, just as I pushed the "send" -button my mom screamed that Ben's throwing up!

Oh, this is going to be a LONG night...! It's... 01:22 AM here right now... And it doesn't want to ease allthough I took a tummy medicin (milk bacterias that calm the stomache down).

Poor Ben, he's only a little fellow my heart goes out to him. :(

Looks like you might be in for a sleepless night. Not that you could sleep anyway worrying about him. :(

Keep us updated and give him a big hug from all of us. :buzi:

Oh, Ben is allright! He just ate too much too fast and his tummy couldn't handle it. And his feecies isn't that bad... It's not normal, but it's not diharrea or anything like that either just.. umm... loose...

Actually, I'm more worried about if I might have catched something of Ben or if I was carrying this germ and gave it to Ben. If that was the case, I don't know if I could forgive myself (even though giving someone a germ isn't intentional) . I would never want to be the reason for Ben beeing sick!

Well, like I said, i'm not totally sure if it can happen or not. Maybe give the vet a buzz tomorrow? If it was something that you passed to him, he knows you didn't do it intentionally. Just like if you got it from him, you know he didn't do that intentionally. It just sounds like something that is going around, and there probably wasn't much you could do to avoid it. Hope you and Ben feel better soon. :)

Oooh! I'm SOOOO tired, but I think it's worse if I go to bed and then I don't have enough time to run to the bathroom or something... Think of the mess... and talk about EMBARASSING!!!

Crested,

Yes people can catch things from dogs and other animals. A neighbor of mine became seriously ill and had to be taken to the hospital. After a lot of testing, he was diagnosed with something that I can't remember. They said he most likely caught it from dogs. The poor guy was even reported to the health department. They called him a few times trying to gather as much info as possible. Supposedly whatever he had was quite contagious.

Thing is, his dogs were healthy. There is a possibility that he caught it from some dog that may have pottied in our common area.

Luckily, no one else on the court became ill and no one's dogs did either.

So yes you can get stuff from your animals but many times you will get quite ill.

You may have the tummy problems from stress or flu. Think about it, you have been stressed over Ben for a couple weeks now. That is bound to effect you at some point.

Oh, thank you guys! :)

I haven't had diharrea anymore now, but stomache aches are the ones that keep me in bed 24/7 now... :(
Ben is allright... Actually... Before, he was really picky about his food, now he eats like a horse whenever he notices that there is food in his bowl. So to keep the food he eats down, I have to take the food bowl up for a few minutes after he's eaten about one quarter of what's in the bowl and then give it back. ...buuut... that has actually increased his eating, because now he thinks he has to eat quick so that he can fill his tummy with food! :o
