marion Posted April 28, 2003 Author Posted April 28, 2003 Poor little tyke, is he okay now, what a horrendous thing for you all to go through   I bet you do miss his chatter, our Luke is the same, he tries to get all his words out at once and ends up stuttering :D My cousin fell through a bedroom window when he was a child, unfortunately it left him brain damaged. He lives in a house now with other disabled people and hasn't a care in the world :D :D :D Love and Kisses to Jay (you brave boy) :buzi: :buzi: :buzi: Quote
ellieangel Posted April 28, 2003 Posted April 28, 2003 Thanks Marion Jay's fine now He severed a nerve in his left arm and had to have plastic surgery to repair it :-? the night of his accident he was held together with bandages because they had to wait till the next day for the plastic surgeon to come and put him back together. It was heartbreaking to watch him in so much pain and be unable to help him at all. He cried when he initially did it but in the ambulance he calmed down and just kept saying 'ow it hurts'-no paddy or hysteria he was so brave. He had to wear a cast for quite a while and then a splint to keep his fingers in various positions he couldn't feel his little finger or the one next to it at all at first. I had to sleep on a camp bed next to him for quite a while after, he never wanted to be alone not for weeks. He's a tough cookie and flashes his scars off to anyone who asks about them !!! He had a lucky escape though his surgeon said the cut in his left arm was only 2mm from his main artery, had it been severed he may not of made it -it doesn't bear thinking about. Sorry to hear of your cousins misfortune too so sad but if he's happy thats the most important thing isn't it ! Thanks for your kind words Quote
