Dogs in yard.

I can't stand it! Why do people let there dogs run loose all the time!? god it pisses me off! here is my prolem, we don't have a fenced in yard so when zebra goes out he has to whear a 30 Ft. leash (I know it realy stinks). But the problem is that people in our neighborhood let there dogs out at night and they always poo and pee all over our lawn! This makes Zebra very mad and his hair is always up when he smells other dogs on our lawn. There are allot of cats that do this too and I'm starting to worry that zebra will pick up some kind of disease from these other dogs and cats (he eats the cat poo sometimes :o ). Is there anyway that I can keep these other animals off our lawn or am I just gunna have to deal with it? And I already thought about putting up a fence but that would cost at least a thousand doallrs which i don't have. And I'm also afraid that if I go out at night with zebra that another dog will be out there and it might attack Zebra or myself. I would realy appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

The only thing I could think of is to arm yourself with a hose when you go out there. :o

you do have a problem-- if you put a repellant down Zebra would not like it either, is there any way you could get a cheaper fence--I do not know how much a thousand dollers is. I only know

Well, you could try this....

On all the spots where the dogs and cats have gone, put regular black pepper. Not only will that stop your dog from eating it (he will sneeze alot the first time) since they check out each others droppings on every visit after a few sneezing fits they may decide to stop. It's cheaper than a fence, and if you do have to go out at night it would be a good idea to be armed with a garden hose.

other than that, I would report it to the police as a nuisance call and a threat to your dog since he is tied and they are not and ask them to watch the property.

If you can, put a video camera outside and tape them. Then you have evidence for the police.

p.s. the black pepper wont actually hurt any of them, just makes them uncomfortable for a few minutes.

I don't know about where your are, but here we have leash laws.That is my problem too (not having a fence) . It used to happen that people walking by with their little darlings on flexi-leashes would let them come into our yard and do their duty.... :evilbat: . Well I finally had enough and started going out and "politely ask them not to let their dogs go in my yard, as I have kids that play in the yard" It took awhile but they finally stopped , rather than have me in their faces. :agrue:
If people are letting their dogs out at night loose, I would videotape the dog and start calling the Dog Control in your area. Also if there is a pooper scooper law, these people could be fined. You must have evidence though...... :oops: :o
