DogPaddle Posted March 25, 2003 Posted March 25, 2003 For those of you who have been to obedience: Did all of your trainers also show their dogs at one point or another? For those of you considering obedience: How much would it matter to you if the trainer had shown their dogs? Our trainer has/does show their dogs, they offer training for shows etc, they are very picky in the show class and give us (obedience only class) a lot more leeway. Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted March 25, 2003 Posted March 25, 2003 WE HAVE TAKEN PADDY AND GLADIS TO RING CRAFT AND OBEDIENCE CLASSES . THE OBEDIENCE TRAINER DOES SHOW HER DOGS SHE BRINGS HER DOG TO CLASS TO SHOW EACH EXERCISE WITH HER OWN DOG THE RINGCRAFT TRAINER SHOWS HIS DOGS NEVER BRINGS THEM TO CLASS BUT WE DO SEE HIM WITH THEM AT SHOWS Quote
Kaleb124 Posted March 25, 2003 Posted March 25, 2003 Our trainer has shown (and has titles) in obedience, conformation, herding, tracking, Schutzhund, and agility. I went with her 1.) because she has a great reputation here in my little town, 2.) she is really not all that expensive and 3.) I liked her with I first talked with her....I like her style. I don't think that it would have mattered to me if she had not shown....BUT I was more interested in her experience with large breed aggressive dogs, particularly akitas. I like her and her training style so much that I an apprenticing her. She is a great lady and a awesome trainer. Quote
