Guest Anonymous Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 Hi, I'm new in this forum and I'm writting to ask you for help finding articles that talk about the benefits of having dogs at the work place. I have a 7 month old golden retriver and he comes with me to work everyday. I work for a university and we haven`t have a problem yet. However some people don`t like dogs and have started to complain, so I'm preparing a document to make my case when necessary. Thanks in advance. PATT Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 What I see is, ok, golden reitriver is no a small dog, somehow it is too active that might border those whom are not really like dogs much. But if your dog are discipline trained, thats might be improved by showing some tricks. As many people know, pets doctor are available to visit hospital regularly that are welcomed to much patient. A young puppy may not do a great jobs as they are not matural to learn the world as say not socialized well to handle yet. So, it is wise you and you lovely doggy can join some training course or open to public like parks where there are more people taking dogs with and train your dog there. There are actually tons of benefits of keeping fury fellows, they can low your blood pressure, relax your mind etc. You can search from the web and there must have tons of articles available. But most of all, you should have your dog completely under your control and leashed in public. This is the first impression :D Quote
Kaleb124 Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 I have a 6 1/2 month akita puppy. I have taken him to work with me since the day I got him. I wanted him to learn how to behave from the start. I am always conscious of other people's feelings and try to avoid complaints at all costs. It is easy for me because my office has it's own outside door. Therefore, people hardly see me coming and going unless they see me outside. I am very particular about doggie odor/cleanliness. I pick up after him daily. So far, there have been no complaints. If we receive a compaint I will deal with it. I don't know much about the benefits of having a dog at work, but as long as you leave people nothing to complain about, you should be ok. However, there are always going to be bitter, unhappy people looking to cause trouble for you. Check out this months Dog World....I think there is an article about taking your dog to work inside it. Also, go to a search engine and search for "pets in the workplace". Quote
