Kiger Posted March 20, 2003 Posted March 20, 2003 Anyone else want to try to educate the masses? After all this http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=171121 board proclaims to be "fighting ignorance". Just don't get nasty or you'll get banned. Quote

Guest roo Posted March 20, 2003 Posted March 20, 2003 A short story about this dog  He was bred in europe. and sent to the usa to a show home, well they took one look at him and sent him back, he was not good enough, not what they wanted at all :o Anyhow, he came home, was shown and sold again. This dog has taken the continent by storm, won almost everything i watched the group on telly and was lucky enough to actually see best in show live (again) This dog had so much support, they went wild when he came into the best in show ring :o . His condition was excellent, yet his handler, well in my opinion did this dog no favours at all, he stood him fine but moving him he did not get the best out of the dog at all. Infact at one point i wonderd if the dog was lame but he wasnt . I do have a videa of it all  I tape crufts every year, am i sad or what (no responses needed here) Any way as of now thats all i can find sorry.... wany more info i will let you know Quote

There are so many people on it that it gets a bit bogged down as the morning goes on. Weird isn't it? I love the BBQ Pit though. ROFL Quote
Kiger Posted March 20, 2003 Author Posted March 20, 2003 And the original poster wants to adopt a newf cross and wants to know what to expect. I think we kinda missed that and piled on the "hybrid vigor" person. LOL Quote

Guest Anonymous Posted March 20, 2003 Posted March 20, 2003 The Americans sent that Newfie that won Crufts over here thinking it wasn't good enough. Shows what you all know! Quote

imported_Cassie Posted March 22, 2003 Posted March 22, 2003 What about the Canadian standards for the Breed... Quote
bk_blue Posted March 22, 2003 Posted March 22, 2003 This also applies to (bench/show) Kelpies from Australia and Kelpies from the US- there is no way either would win any prizes in either country (I think there is a thread on this). Actually almost any breed bred in different countries are going to be different, depending on what the standard is in that particular country. Quote
