This isn't the shelter I volunteer at, but I visited when I was looking for a dog. This poor German Shepherd has been at this shelter for 5 months at the very least. She is a SENIOR and if that isn't bad enough, she was attacked by another dog at the shelter. A careless volunteer put a pitbull and Melody together, so as apparent in the picture, she lost part of her ear. Melody sounds like a very calm and sweet girl that needs a better life than one at a shelter for the remainer of her life. No one seems to want to adopt her because she's an older and larger dog with a "not so perfect" ear. I betchya they discriminate her for it. How terrible would I feel if she never found a new home at her age. *BTW, the shelter is a strays only shelter*
I doubt that any of you live close enough, but if you know anyone who'd be interested in her, let them know! Thanks!

Oh, I feel so bad for her!!! I wish I lived close enough to help her out.

It's not fair that older dogs get discriminated against. Some of those dogs could be wonderful family dogs, great with children, other pets. Even though they might not be in your family for too long, they'll stay in your heart forever. Why not make the last years of their life the best???
