Lilys due to be desexed on Friday and all of a sudden I'm all worried!!! I don't want to send my baby to be cut open and have bits chopped out of her :o :(
And she's so beautiful, everybody says I should breed her so I will never have that choice again after friday.
What if something goes wrong? Argh, I'm so paranoid, I just don't want my darling to get hurt. She's having blood tests and a full physical first so I know that there is nothing wrong with her, so at least I'll have some peice of mind there.... but still, I need some reassurance!!!! :drinking:

i think you are doing the right thing i'm sure evrything will go fine,if you do not do it and you breed with her them you have the added pressure of finding the right homes for her babies, and lets face it none of us relly know what happens to the pups when you sell them.there is so many crue people about out there as we all know.have her done and give her the love at lest that way you know whats going on in her life.i have mine all done and dont regret it one bit.if i'd let them breed i would have had to kept the pups.and i dont think that would have been fair.so be brave and just give her all thelove you can when she comes home.good luck what ever you do.

Lily will be FINE mate... trust me you are making the best choice and maybe it will calm her down a bit too? 8)

Hope everything goes well and will be thinking of you Friday! :drinking:

Repeated heats are so stressful for your puppy, she wants something, can't get it, she is uncomfortable, runs the risk of ovarian cancer . . .
She should be fine at her spaying. She will be so much happier in the long run, try to think of that it will take some of the stress off. Also find something to keep you distracted during the procedure so you not just sitting there waiting and thinking about it.

My girl was fine afterwards...it takes a day or two for them to adjust, but they are ok with it. It calms them, and eliminates the stress of going into heat and wanting to mate. Sexual stress is bad for a dog who is never allowed to mate. And this decreases the risk of sexual organ cancer.

You're going to feel like a heel the day she comes home. She may be lethargic, lazy and confused feeling. But trust me, she'll be fine.

And in the long run, it's better for her.

She'll be a happier, calmer dog without the stress involved in the mating cycle.

And we're here for you!!

:D

Tomorrows the big day... wish us luck!!! :kciuki:

Don't worry dogpaddle, I'll have something to keep my mind off it... uni. 2 hours of biology then I have to go and see a lady about a job... I've found some work for monday :banan:
Then home to do a load more chem work.... I'll keep myself busey!

One of the guys from dog training is in my socyology classes, he told me to tell Lily to be expecting a get well soon card from his dog Jackson... he's her little boyfriend but they don't like each other much. lol.

One question though, she's got obedience on Saturday, its only one hour in the morning... I was wondering if she would be ok to go? Of course I'll take into account how she's feeling on the day, but I was wondering if she should be alright. Its just that I don't like missing lessons, so what do you think?

As long as Lily seems ok too you she should be fine. Obediance is a pretty controlled environment and works the dogs mind way more than the body, if it were agility it would be another issue altogether. If you have any dogs in your class that are out of control and play rough before or after class then I would ask your instructor if you could switch to a class later in the week to make it up, that's what they do in our class when nec.

You know, they do make mistakes! Plus sometimes it's someone else perpetrating a fraud on both you and the bank! That happened to us! An employee of a business we had paid out a sizable check to was recycling the old check numbers to get the bank to pay out and then pocketing the money! I had to raise a big stink to get the matter cleared up...and then I never did know if charges were brought against the embezzler! But don't you think the bank should know that that amount and check number had been paid out before? The check was written two years previous.....NOW WE BELONG TO A LOCAL CREDIT UNION! Hooray, and haven't had a problem since! Good Luck fighting the good fight!

K!!!!!!

Look into that VERY CLOSELY!!!

Someone got my debit card number and pin (probably watched me at the food store punching it in) and made a duplicate of my debit card.

Checks started to bounce, money was missing, all in all I lost almost $2000.00 to the creep, and the bank wont reimburse it because it's a debit
card and they cant trace it. Even though I showed and told them that the ATM's the money was withdrawn from were never ones I used, they stil cant prove it so they wont reimburse me.

I ended up having to close that account and open a new one at a different bank. I'm a lot more careful now....

I was told by the police that some people have "photographic" memories, they see the card, memorize the number and the pin, and then sell that info to people who make the phony cards.

OK, I'm going into "evil mode" now.... :evilbat:

Crested, ask your mom how SHE would feel if she could NEVER HAVE SEX.....EVER.....

It's a trick question, but the results come out the same....

An unneutered dog not allowed to relieve sexual tension becomes a hyper, wandering, ill-adjusted dog. Just like people. We're not all that different when it comes to sexual need.

The sexual drive is instinctive in all of us. Even humans. We can change it and make it do what we want, but animals cannot. They have to go with what nature tells them to do. We can choose to ignore our sex drive, they cannot.

Good Luck with mom!!

LOL, ask your mum   Have I missed something though? I didn't see a post from crested???
Sorry I've been so slow replying, as I've said I've got ALOT of work to get through (I spend pretty much every second at home studying except for the half hour or so a few times a week on the net!). Plus I had a funeral to go to yesterday that turned out to be an all nighter with people crying etc... now I've got about 5 hours of chemistry to catch up on today!!! Needed a break though, just spent two hours trying to learn how to do one question! :madgo:
Anyway, I didn't take her to obedience today. I rang dad after the funeral to see how she was going so I knew to be home in the morning or not and aparently she was really sore so I decided to give it a miss.
She seems ok now, having a little trouble doing number 2's so I added a little oil to her meals. Seeing as mum wont let her in the house its been hard for me to keep an eye on her though because I've been in the study the whole time I'm at home but she's looking fine. The stitches are clean and will heal quickly I'm sure and her blood tests came up fine so I know she doesn't have any internal problems.
Thanks for your reassurance everyone!!!

She's getting better every day, the vet rang up the other day, I wasn't home so mum took the call. Apparently the lady at the vets had fallen in love with Lily and the clinic has named her "silly Lily", the lady thought that she was absolutly gorgeous and was just checking up to see how she was :D I think thats the first sign you've found a great vet, when they actually care about the individual and give each animal the individual attention they desrve, I wont be going back to any other vet! (Even though this one is by far the most expensive in town...)
Anyway, she hasn't been picking tomatos... but that could just be everyones efforts to Lily proof the fence! :drinking:
She's put on weight and has her normal level of energy back and will be at obedience on Sunday.
She slept in my bed the other night after boyfriend let her in in the middle of the night. I woke up in the morning and went to roll over and give him a hug and all I got was a big bundle of fur! Lily was sleeping between us with her head on the pillow and her paws wrapped around Matts neck giving him a hug all night!
What a sweet little puppy eh?
