Guest Anonymous Posted March 9, 2003 Posted March 9, 2003 Sorry, I don't own any mixes, but am curious to ask a few questions if you don't mind! Who was their originator? What are they bred for? I have more but I don't want to lay a heavy load on you. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted March 9, 2003 Posted March 9, 2003 Babygirl is a shitzu- poodle mix. and she is 8 punds. and honey colored and chopped tail. and well I am wanting to groom her, myself. and I am trying to find out how to a video, or something. I have ckeced into some sources but they ar ewnating several dollars for the video. and there is no specific cut on it for a shih-poo. so no go. Quote

Shih-poo isn't a breed it's just a cutesy name someone came up with to help sell their mixed breed dogs. I guess if it has hair more like a poodle, I would clip it like a poodle. If it has longer hair more like a Shih-tzu, clip it like that. Quote
DogPaddle Posted March 11, 2003 Posted March 11, 2003 Just go with a puppy cut, its easiest and very cute. Pretty much one length all over body and legs, tail and head a little longer. Get a set of clippers, pick a length and go to it. You may make some mistakes to start with but most of the time your dog won't be embarrassed so don't worry, have fun. My mom had a mostly black cockaterripoo thing and he had a flash of white on the end his chin and bushy brows - my brother and I took him out to the yard, set the clippers to their shortest setting and trimmed him up very neat except for his white beard goatee bushy eyebrows  it was unique, slightly comical but quite cute, dog didn't mind and it was nice and cool for summer.
