Guest Anonymous Posted March 7, 2003 Posted March 7, 2003 :o You guessed it.. Another Dog Potty training question.. Okay so here is the stimulation, we just got a puppy she is about 2 months old right now.. We are working on Potty Training, I am at work all day during the day and my Fiance is home.. When I get up in the morning, I take the dog out immediately.. She Peeps and Poops yada yada.. She then comes in and Eats, I take her back out so she can do her business again before I go to work.. Well My Fiance sleeps in, so when she gets up she takes her out again.. She walked the dog for 20 mins.. She pee'd that was it.. She came back inside, the other dog and her played forever.. My Fiance took her out again for another 20 mins.. Still did not poop.. 5 mins later.. Big pile in the bedroom.. :-( She went in the bedroom after she brought her back in.. My Question for you all, is this out of defiance, is this stubborness? SHe knows what she does when she goes outside because we praise her like no other.. Suiggestions? HELP!!! Quote
DogPaddle Posted March 8, 2003 Posted March 8, 2003 Get baby gates - lots of them. The dog should not be out of you or your fiances site unless it is crated for fastest house training results. The puppy went off to the bedroom to go so likely it didn't want to go in the house in front of your fiance. If puppy is always more or less in sight and can't get off to a bedroom you stand a better chance of success. If this fails to resolve the issue a crate and a schedule are the key - let me know if you need to know more. Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted March 9, 2003 Posted March 9, 2003 I agree with K watch for the sniffing around looking for the right stop. If you can take the poop it did and place it outside, It may help the puppy to understand thats where you want it :) Quote
