Okay, I don't know WHO it is, but when I find out!!! :x :evilbat: :drinking:
One of our (Male) neighbor dogs has been coming over and peeing on our porch!!!!! I know it's male because it's on the beam that holds up the roof over the porch. It drives Hazel CRAZY every time i take her out there. I haven't been able to catch who's doing it, because he seems to do it at night. This hadn't started until about a week ago. I figure he probably would keep doing this if I allowed Hazel to go sniff then, naturally, pee over top of the spot, marking HER territory. But THEN I have a problem with MY dog peeing on the porch!!!! If I catch who's doing this, I plan to confront his owner, but how am I supose to catch who's doing this if I never see him!?
Any suggestions?
Are their any ways of getting him to STOP too? Like something I can spray over top of the spot or something like that?
Thanks a bunch!

I dont know about catching him, but there's a harmless way yu can stop him. Put red pepper on the porch and on the post. They always sniff first.
The sneezing fit will make him less interested in your porch.

I had to do this because one of my neighbors was letting her dog pee on
my newly planted sapling, and it was dying....no amount of requests to stop would move her. She kept saying "It's just a tree...." and since the tree was on the parkway it wasnt considered part of my property.

After the pepper incident, he avoided my yard completely.

If you really want to catch him you can put a video camera out and turn it on at night.

I don't even know if we HAVE red pepper :o  (just goes to prove how much time I Spend in the kitchen!) But I'll ask my dad! Thanks! I'll try it!

I would try the camera thing, but our's needs to be fixed, and it would just wear out the battery anyway :-?

Get a bigger dog, there is this vicous GSD that is right in the center of our block i remember when i would walk Brianna my first Dobie past this dog he would go ballistic in his fence, barking snarling teeth the whole nine yards, just really really mean. Then i got Daz he would love to rush the fence at Daz as a puppy he would run full speed to the end of the leash and try to get away I think it excited the GSD even more but Daz grew FAST. For the number of months old he was he would weigh about 10lbs more, so at 4 months about 50lbs, 8 months about 90lbs, and so on to about 130lbs, and then he stabalized, now when we walk past that dog he just sits on his portch and looks mean he doesnt run over he doesnt bark he doesnt growl and Daz walks by just looking at him daring him to try it. Dogs know if a fight is worth trying and if they have a chance maybe its the whole Pack thing and he isnt interested in trying 2 dogs. I dont know but i still see him running up to the fence after this sweet little bichon, I told her she should get a pyr to go with it and she wouldnt have to worry about that big bully.

OOOOooo, I have never heard the red pepper idea but I will do that for some of my neighbor dog problems! That is a very good one.

...For the peeing on the post I had thought maybe a strategically placed electric fence. :evilbat: But I am sure that the red pepper is more politically correct!

The way I looked at it it wasnt the dogs fault really. The owner should be taking responsibility for that. I didnt want to hurt the dog, just make him go away and the pepper is harmless. Once they stop sneezing their silly little heads off they decide they dont like your yard. You may have to reapply it every few days in case he's persistant. Get the post a little wet and then just rub it on. then poor it on the porch at the bottom of the post.

a big pile is good....he'll want to investigate it.

I also used it to stop Alex from peeing on my shed!!! :D

This owner needs to realize that some people are not as tolerant as us.
If she keeps letting her dog do this, someone may decide to put poison on their porch.

Here's some suggestions:

Stay up all night until the dog comes and p**** on ur house, then follow the dog home. When you figure out where it lives put about a week's worth of your own dogs' cr@p on their porch w/ a note saying: Here! I'll clean up after your dog if you clean up after mine!!!

Or... Stay up all night and capture the dog and bring it to the pound. I've done that with a couple of my neighbor's dogs when they weren't taking care of them.... but then again I don't get along with my neighbors too well.

yeah, you see I DO get along with my neighbors, and I don't plan on stayin up all night (odds are 50/50 if he even COMES OVER) so I can follow a dog home (and I'd know where it lives anyway, I know where ALL the neighbor dogs live) in the middle of a FORT ST. JAMES WINTER! :o In the middle of the night... I'd be a Sharacicul!!! :o :drinking:
