The plastic and duct tape thing cracks me up as well....but the sad part is that people are believing it. You're all absolutely correct - anything that could keep germs out of your house would keep oxygen out as well....

Besides, here in Chicagoland we have the same freezing temps the Wisconsonites have....most of us alreay have the plastic on our windows to keep out the cold (the blow dryer kind, not with duct tape). Do I feel any safer? no......lol

it must be the duct tape....yea, that's it!

Wow it all seems very scary. I for one am glad I live in (relative) safety. But this shouldn't be happening these days... why can't we all just get along?? Makes you kind of realise that you should just get out there and *live* our lives while our crazy leaders try to blow up the world. :x

 I live in Arkansas...a state not known for its high level of sophistication. I thought that it was certainly another red-neck "Arkinsaw" joke when I read about the duct tape. (which Wal-Mart has in large amounts by the registers!!)

I can not imagine where this idea came from...but even in Arkansas we don't believe it will work!!

OK, I admit it - I HAVE duct tape - lol

I also have a t-shirt that says "I can fix ANYTHING! Wheres the duct tape?"

On one of my business trips to Portland, the zipper broke on my suitcase as I was packing to go home. This was at 11:00 at night. I called the front desk and asked if anything was open at this hour that would have duct tape?

The guy very calmy said "what color do you want?"

Taken aback, I said "what COLOR?"

He says "yea, what color. We have 9 different colors of duct tape here...."

I just busted out laughing. I said "black will do"

The guy that delivered it to my room said this is VERY common. People buy stuff out of town and find it's more than will fit int he suitcase...so zippers break.

When I got home I bought the t-shirt - lol

duct tape, smucht tape - if all hell breaks loose and it gets that bad no amount of plastic and duct tape is going to help. I know it's easy for me to say sitting all the way over here in Oz, but why panic over something you can't control. There are a lot more things in my life, that I do have control over that I need to worry about first :)

The duct tape for the suit case is a great idea - I haven't actually broken a zipper myself but have in the past bought so much stuff when overseas that I physically couldn't lift my suitcase. Not a good idea when you are on your own and have to rely on strangers to lift your bag for you

Hey Malamum- was there a peace rally in Sydney yesterday? We had one here (Melb) and 200,000 people turned out. It was effing awesome. I mean it's not going to change Little Johnny's plan one single bit  , but that's 5% of our city's population protesting- and it wasn't just feral students and hippies either. Families, politicians, comedians, every single nationality you could think of turned up. church leaders, hippies, students (of all ages), parents, grandparents, people in suits... it was so heartening to see just how many of us don't want this to happen- across all races, socio-economic classes, backgrounds, religions etc.

I originally bought it at a place called the T-Shirt Factory, but that was a few years ago.

I know there are websites where you can either find one, or have one designed.

Good LucK!
