Guest Anonymous Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 Did anyone watch it? Mick was awesome. A true show dog. I loved the way he changed his stance during Best of Show. I did want Josh to win, though.... Dallas was nice too. Quote

Mick is a natural. If Josh would have won, he would have been the second newf to win at Westminster. I am thinking about going to next year's show. Seriously? I would LOVE to go. How do you get tickets? Did you hear everyone groan when Josh looked like he was ready to sit? Poor guy. Mich is a natural, as you said. VERY impressive. I loved that move he made! How was the Shiba? I didn't get to watch until the Hound group started.....They are NEVER as pretty as mine are.... Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 Let us know if you go! I'll be very jealous, but happy for you! Quote
Carolk9s Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 I watched it last night, I am VERY disappointed in the Belgian Sheepdog that had won breed and was in the herding group. Not criticizing cause I've never been in those shoes, just disappointed. He was as skittish as a newborn foal. I know Westminster is big and noisy and strange and hot and and and....but THAT dog was the representative of the Belgian Sheepdog to millions of viewers. THAT dog seemed afraid of his own shadow. Via the Belgian list I have heard that he was just as skittish in the breed judging. I don't care how well put together a dog is physically, if their temperament is not proper, does not hold up under pressure, they should NOT be top dog on that day. Yes the BSD is not quite two years old yet, but again the best dog both physically AND mentally should be put up. On the other hand I was VERY impressed with Gus, the Belgian Malinios. He had a nice air of calm competence about him. Brig the Terv looked very nice also. Quote

Carolk9s Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 Of course the good news is that folks won't be rushing out to buy and breed Belgian Sheepdogs based on the dog that won. 8) Quote
Kiger Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 Did you see the Shiba? Everyone already knew that dog would win months in advance - all politics. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 No I missed it. How was it? They are never as good as others I have seen.... Quote
Kiger Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 Here he is. He's "ok". At least it wasn't the other dog that always looks like he's smelled something bad - he won the Eukanuba Classic. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 He looks a LOT nicer than the one from the AKC Eukanuba Cup! Quote

Kiger Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 He's pooping on the step...nah, just kidding! :P Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 Am I the only one that has a problem with a dog winning best of show that has been shaped with a pair of scizzors :-? Yea he had great presence but he could have been molded into any number of different shapes instead or left in his natural "chia pet" look. [ :) Sorry, just sour grapes cause the Akita didnt win :) ] Quote
