There are short haired border collies and there is a chance that the gene is in there. Besides, her sister has longer hair...I really need to get a pic of her to post. They are similar in markings down to the black spots on their feet. I will post another pic of Charlotte that I found that will give you a close up of her face.

And if you say beagle one more time I will start :drinking:

Sorry dont like beagles much but they are cute.

Consider this:
Number of new
individuals registered (AKC)
in 2001
Ranked Breed Number registered
61 Border Collie 1,796
5 Beagle 50,419
14 American Cocker Spaniel 25,445
76 English Cocker Spaniel 1,228
113 Welsh Springer Spaniel 283

So... from this a BC is twice more likely to meet up with a Beagle than a Cocker Spaniel.
For every BC registered last year there are about 28 beagles and only 14 cockers.

Now for these breeds currently on petfinder:
BC 2173
Beagle: 2591
Cocker 1138

Ok... I made my case.
