Guest Anonymous Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 Hobbit, What's the news on Guy? The suspense has been killing me ALL DAY!! Quote
Bensam Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 Yes, Hobbit, how is Guy? Sorry I've been a bit off beam and didn't enquiry before this. I hadn't forgotten him. Hope things are going OK for him and you. And have we heard from Mei Mei? I've got so much to catch up with. Quote
Hobbit Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 Thanks for asking. I posted under "Health" in "Guy's Radiographs" and in "The Halo is off!" He's been sick from an infection in his leg. The vet would not listen to me. So, I administered 250mg of Amoxicillin for 14 days. Guy feels GREAT! I wasn't going to sit back and let his leg rot off, because the vet thinks I'm being a worry-wart. Quote
Bensam Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003   way to go, Guy and Hobbit   Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 HOBBIT the vet is there to stop us worrying, :D make him/her do their job :D Quote
Hobbit Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 mouseatthebusstop napisał(a):HOBBIT the vet is there to stop us worrying, :D make him/her do their job :D You are exactly correct. I get aggravated at them sometimes, just like a medical doctor telling you that your back can't possible hurt. Um.... well, it DOES! I spend every day with my dogs, I know their quirks, their likes and dislikes, their silly antics. So, I sure as heck KNOW when one of them is not feeling well. For someone that only sees my dog(s) once in a great while or sometimes have never seen them, to tell me --- "Oh, he's okay, just probably tired"... it grates me. Quote
Bensam Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 Absolutely. When I moved to this area about 12 years ago, I tried a couple of the Vets in the larger town (still 150ks away) and ended up in a smaller place with the Vet I have now. He LISTENS to what I tell him and asks questions. I have told him if I get sick I'm going to him  as the local Doctors have the "I'll tell you whats wrong, dont want to hear how you feel" attitude. Quote
Hobbit Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Isn't that the truth. Some doctors think they know YOUR body better than you! Quote
Black GSD Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Hobbit, What breed/breeds do you have? The dog in the Avitar looks like a Kelpie (though it can be hard to tell from the small size of the pictures. ) And seems like you are pretty anti cross breeding of Border Collies (With good reason). (Or is that someone else?) Anyway, just curious. :D Quote
Hobbit Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Yes, that is an Australian Kelpie. We have working Kelpies and Australian Cattle Dogs, mostly. We also have 3 Border Collies and 2 Anatolian Shepherds. Yes, that would be me.....the "anti-cross thy BC" person. Quote
