Guest Anonymous Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 :D I can't believe I forgot to tell you guys this! Last night I was home alone (well, it was around 4:00pm) and Lexie, my neighbor wanted to me to go over there... but I didn't want to tie up Hazel, and she was in the crate when I got home, even though she had been walked I still didn't want to put her back in there. So Lexie suggested bringing her over there. I replied "IN THE HOUSE?" and she was like "yeah, it's okay... JASPER slept in my room before!!" (Jasper was our last dog, he was a HUGE Aussie +) But Lexie had a friend over. Since our houses are seperated by only a road, I told her I'd bring the muzzel, just in case, and bring Hazel over. if she wasn't comfatble at all, or something, I would bring her home right away. On the way over, the muzzel was lost! So when I got there I told Lexie to open her bedroom door, and that I'd let Hazel get a look at her friend from a distance, if she growled or anything, I'd take her home. She didn't! In fact, she wagged her tail even! We didn't take chances of course, kept them away just in case, but Hazel was SO GOOD!!! :D Her and Dukie (Lexie's dog, Hazel's best friend!) just sat on the floor and played, hitting eachother with their paws and nibbling around thier faces, it was so cute! LOL of course, like dogs do, they'd get a little out of control sometimes, and we'd have to settle them down before the broke something, but they were good. We stayed there for about an hour and a half, then I took Hazel home. But I was VERY proud of her! But of course, as soon as I got home, STAIGHT TO THE GARBAGE! lol of course she's good for them, but not me! LOL Quote
DogPaddle Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 Maybe something in your home is exaserbating (sp?) the behaviour problem? Change in your behaviour? Other people in the house? Paticular training? Paticular scents? Some perfumes or "scented" products (many colognes/perfumes/scents are actually volitile organic compounds) can have neurological, respiratory, or other effects on humans including headaches and moodiness so I presume the same is true for dogs, perhaps more so. Guest Anonymous Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 I don't think it's TOO much to do with in my house... a little bit of course, since it's HER territory sorta thing, but today then my cuz was over too, she barked and stuff when they first came to the house, but then once everyone settled down, and I brought her out, she was good again! DogPaddle Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 Well whatever the case, it sounds like your still making progress so keep up all the work you've been doing and congrats. Its great to see especially given how precarious your pups positions was less than a month ago. Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 I think it is a territory,in some-elses house she used her manners and was good. You are making progress :D Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 thanks guys! Well, she's been good in the house lately too though! I just took her for a walk, and there were people and their dogs walking by, I could do nothing by hold her back as best I could, there was no changing her mind :( so much for an enjoyable walk. But other then that, she has been good today. Quote
