humboldt505 Posted January 14, 2003 Posted January 14, 2003 What is everyones take on pet psychics? I like to watch the show on animal planet, but i don't really trust in those sorts of things. I would love to have animal insite though. Quote
Kiger Posted January 14, 2003 Posted January 14, 2003 How come she never knows what the animal's name or gender is? And from what I can gather from watching the previews, all the animals think everyone is VERY VERY RUDE to them. Guess you can call me a skeptic... :-? Quote
Kiger Posted January 14, 2003 Posted January 14, 2003 Oh yeah, and how come the animals look so darn bored even though they can suddenly communicate their every desire? One cat was completely asleep. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted January 14, 2003 Posted January 14, 2003 I hate that show, that lady has a very aggrivating voice and she is so general with what the animal is "saying" that it could mean anything under the sun. Have you seen the one with the monkeys... BULL. that show means its time to channel surf. Quote

Exactly....that is the same thing "people" psychics do...they are so general, they just get all their info off the tv or something!!!!! not that I've ever been there, of course... Quote
lordgoliath Posted January 14, 2003 Posted January 14, 2003 C'mon guys! She has to be for real! I mean I was watching one time and she said that the dog loved french fries! I mean, can you believe that? How could she possibly know that a random dog loves french fries? And she also said that the dog loved to be rubbed behind the ears. The owner confirmed thses two statements. Amazing! Oh wait....I guess that probably describes 90% of the dog population. Darn, and I was gonna buy tickets and everything..... Quote

Guest Anonymous Posted January 14, 2003 Posted January 14, 2003 I guess what bothers me is that people PAY her to do this. If ou cant look at your dog and tell weather or not they are happy you dont need a dog. I dont need some lady rubbing my dog all funny guessing about the most rudamentry things that my dog does. Like: "You play fetch together, he likes that. But he doesnt like baths, he likes to have you rub his tummy but he hates to have his ears cleaned." DUHHHHHH!!! Name a dog that hates to have his ears scrathed or hates to get treats or hates to play, heck name a dog that doesnt. It just irritates me that people can get over on "stupid" people Quote
yellowlabsrule Posted January 14, 2003 Posted January 14, 2003 On the show That's my baby on animal planet these people had a pet psychic over after they had kittens and that cat tried to KILL her! It was scratching her and meowing! That psychic gal on AP is a psycho! Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted January 14, 2003 Posted January 14, 2003 I have not seen the show you are all talking about. I do belive some people are psychic maybe not the ones who make lots of money on TV I like to think I keep an open mind :) Quote
lordgoliath Posted January 14, 2003 Posted January 14, 2003 sashagirl napisał(a):I saw a test on her... They took like 10 sick dogs at a vets office. She was given a few minutes with each, to tell what their sickness was... The vets of course already knew... She didn't get any right, not even close at all... She is a proven phony! But people still watch it, so she's still on the air! I'd be interested in seeing/reading that. Can you tell me where you saw that? Quote
Hobbit Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 She and Miss Cleo should go into business together! Both are frauds! Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted January 25, 2003 Posted January 25, 2003 I like the show, as entertainment - except for the dead pets part. I dont believe she is really a "pet psychic" - and a dog eating french fries right before the show would smell like french fries....I wonder how much research is done on these animals before they get "chosen" for her to "read".... Most of the "people psychics" out there research their people before doing the whole reading thing. They also rely on body language and other "cues" from their customers. It is very generic as far as the "remedies" she supplies - a lot of it is simple common sense. Like the one where she suggested a acupuncture specialist look at the horse with issues - since every other vet option failed, this one was the next step in a possible solution..... As far as cues, when she hits on a reading that changes the body language of the owner, she expounds on it from there. It's an age old trick in the psychic business. SHe then asks questions on the subject that changed the body language, and hits on the "solution" from that. And as far as her "calming" the animals, I can do that too. Animals know when people are in control of a situation, and as long as you are they will be generally calm. Quote
