An Obviuos Dislike for Cats.

I think you can be a devout dog person and a devout cat person at the same time.

I have two cats, or should I say 2 cats have me, and I also have 2 pits.
The cats and the dogs get on really well and I've never had a problem. My older bitch doesn't exactly like cats but she's happy to ignore them and do her own thing. Cats are intelligent animals and they have learnt that my older bitch should be left alone or they'll get barked at. Now they shower all their love on me and my male dog reggie. The cats, especially one of them will seek reggie out and rub his face all over reggie's face before settling in between his front legs and sleeping. It's very cute and people who have a mistrust of pitbulls see it and usually have a change of heart.
Cat smells are easily solved if you can build a cat proof enclosure outside the house that is connected to the house by an enclosed runway. The cats can then come and go as they please and you will find that they prefer to crap outside. The enclosure allows the cat to sun himself, scratch a post etc and doesn't need to be huge, as you know a cat spends most of its day sleeping and any excercise needed can be done in the house.

Open your eyes to cats and you'll see a noble, affectionate, discerning and beautiful animal.

I uesd to HATE cats.Reason being cuz one of those feral cats living in Taiwan had to come and eat our 2 bunnies. The bunnies lived outside. Then I got bit by another cat.And scratched too. :-? Then I started to like them(cuz my friend had a really nice one, I think he was a Russian Blue...or Chatreux(sp?).I know I'm going to have lots of dogs one day, and 1 cat.Probably a Ragdoll...or Cornish Rex. I read somewhere that you can train a cat to flush the toilet after peeing. You fill an empty film canister with treats and make a little hole in the bottom. Then tie the canister onto the toilet flush thingy and when the cat pulls it, treats will fall out.you know the rest. But the book said that after teaching that, there'll be lots of flushing going on in the house

My advice: if you want a cat like dog get a basenji, if you want a dog like cat get a devon rex (or you could just contact some cartoon writers and get a cat-dog  )
Basenji's are small, almost cat sized, incredibly clean, clean their face like cats, don't bark, are oderless and prance around like they own the place - just like a cat. They are also one of the cutest most lovable breeds around... trust me, I used to own one :D
Devon Rex's are often reffered to as the dog of the cat world, plus they are virtually furless so do not shed every where. They are similar to a siamese in character, very trainable (for a cat) and will even play fetch if taught to. They will follow you around the house and just be absolute darlings 24/7.
Siamese are also great, my boy is the most gorgeous cat I've ever seen and everyone who meets him says the same about him. He's got these amazing blue eyes that just capture people and its love at first sight for everyone who meets him. Feed any cat a good diet and it wont shed that much fur, excessive fur shedding is a sign of bad health.
Or you could just go with a rat, they are like half dog half cat, they groom themself all day and are independant like a cat, but they chase you around and follow commands like a dog. They don't have any of the bad traits of either cats or dogs and I consider them the perfect pet for anyone, aside from that you have to clean their cage weekly.
Whatever you decide I hope your pet has a long healthy life and you're both happy with your decision

Peaceful

Most peaceful

And I have an even more peaceful one, but I can't find it.
Winnie and Smudge loved each other soooo much that when Winnie went on a vacation with us, Smudge went looking for her and got hit by a car.   Winnie was even more heart broken than I. She was looking all around for him, but couldn't find him.

.... and don't tell me it's the slipcover thingies, I have all that stuff, and quilts and blankets that I put on and off and wash constantly, and I STILL have little furballs blowing around at all the wrong moments. :-?
