Guest Anonymous Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 My mom doesn't want the medications because she doesn't belive they do good, but only bad. She's bipolar, and was on meds for a couple years and never improved. She started on the Science Diet, and hasn't had a manic episode... That is why she's against medications. Hazel was hit by a car last summer... I really don't think it's a pain thing. She doesn't show any signs whatso ever... even if someone (well, that she knows) grabs her leg she doesn't care. Thank you guys so much for you help. It really brought tears to my eyes. I live in Fort St. James, BC. I know, your probably asking "WHERE?!" I've only been able to find it on the map ONCE, and it was a school map. I'm contacting the K9Care one right now, and I will contact the others. Last night dad said if I find a behavorist, we can bring Hazel there... I'm not so sure I belive him though, since they've more then once told me one then, then totally turned it around! But I think he might be telling the truth this time, since i finally pointed out to him that the only friend I'm ALLOWED to hang out with his my dog! I know it was idiotic to let Hazel run lose, you don't have to tell me that. She is always within arms reach of me now, or on lead. But I need help, not critisism right now please? Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 Inault@direct.ca didn't work. I e-mailed them, but my hotmail said it didn't send. weird... But I e-mailed them all, and just waiting for replies. Once again, THANK YOU ALL SOOOOOOO MUCH!!! Now, it's time to get my butt outa this chair, save all the dog sites under my faves, have a shower, and go train my pooch! (In a place with no distractions and people of course.) And I have been trying to keep her away from people. Last night my sister had her boyfriend over, as soon as I saw the headlights on the wall, I put Hazel in the computer room. Then they went upstairs, and Hazel came back in the living room. After my movie I brought Hazel for a walk outside to go pee, then told my sister I was bring her to bed so She closed the door to the kitchen and I brought Hazel into my room and closed the door. A lot of door closing, but it's working! Hazel hasn't been upset, and until it's the right time and such, that's how it's going to work. Oh, and I do have a muzzel, I forgot to to post that before... actually I have three... one she was able to get off, then I guess my parents didn't know I had another one and got me ANOTHER one for christmas. Although I don't like using the muzzel unless I HAVE to. Quote
Carolk9s Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 OK Shara, as I said in my pm to you, keep that leash on her! Not as much in the house but ANYTIME she is outside and not behind a secure fence. Does not matter if she RIGHT beside you, she can move far faster than you can react so lets play it safe for Hazel and for anyone in the area. I have not read where she ever popped out of her collar but you want to make sure it won't happen either. And of course you need to be hanging on to the other end of said leash. 8) Sounds like you handled sisters boyfriend coming over correctly. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 Thanks. Yeah, I do keep the leash on her outside. Even inside sometimes. And no matter what, any room she's in I keep the door closed. We even started locking the front door, cuz often people will walk right in, and more often then not Hazel has acess to the door because it leads off of the stairs, bootroom, and main hallway and dinning room. Hazel's not allowed in the kitchen, but the other day I had to make dog food, and someone was to be ecpected at our house, so I tied Hazel's leash to my pants so she wouldn't get in trouble in the kitchen, and closed the door (with her inside obviously), so there was no way she could get away from me. She was able to slip out of her collar before when we use to tie her up, she we cut a hole in it so it could get tighter (but obviously not TOO tight), so there hasn't been a problem with that since.
