eggrolyn1223 Posted December 28, 2002 Posted December 28, 2002 I tried getting Duck to go up the stairs...with a handful of her favorite treats...but she wouldn't budge.I think she's afraid or something....is she ever going to walk up the stairs? She loves food..would do anything for treats...except walk up the stairs.. :( I've been sitting on the stairs for about 20 minutes, coaxing, everything...not working.. :-? HELP!! Quote
bullygirl29532 Posted December 28, 2002 Posted December 28, 2002 how big are your stairs?could you try going down the stairs first with out her falling over. could be she's just not ready. does she want to follow you? (by sitting @ the bottom and whining) or when you go all the way up does she just leave to do her own thing? Quote
eggrolyn1223 Posted December 28, 2002 Author Posted December 28, 2002 Well, she doesn't want to walk up...she wants me to carry her up... :-? Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted December 28, 2002 Posted December 28, 2002 SHE IS ENJOYING BEING CARRIED. TRY PUTTING HER DOWN 4 STEPS OFF THE TOP, THEN SLOWLY INCREASE IT :) Quote
Carolk9s Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 Any progress on the stair issue with Duck? Are there any stairsteps you encounter when you are walking her outside? Will she go up or down them? If she still will not go up the steps, try her at just the top two. What really turns her on? A food treat? A toy? Perhaps if you stop a couple of steps from the top, set her down, then go up yourself and play with the toy or toss the food in your hand a bit. Inquiring minds want to know... 8) Quote

DogPaddle Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 Is it possible Duck has hurt a hip or something. Kavik hurt his hip tumbling about in the snow and ice last year. He didn't yelp or complain, just limped for a little bit and then refused to take any stairs for a week or so. Quote
