Guest Anonymous Posted December 26, 2002 Posted December 26, 2002 Eukanuba's website is giving away free food for a year. I am entering the contest to try to win the food, and then I'll donate it to my local shelter. If anyone else is interested, here is the link. http://www.eukanuba.com/en_US/jhtmls/registration/sw_Registration_page.jhtml?localeid=en_US&brandcode=E&pagetypeid=R1&promotionid=22&freefdflag=Y&speciescode=D&lifestagecode=&breedsizecode= Quote
alicat613 Posted December 26, 2002 Posted December 26, 2002 No thanks. Iams and Eukanuba kill puppies to test their food. http://www.iamskills.com Quote
alicat613 Posted December 26, 2002 Posted December 26, 2002 I refuse to support the killing of puppies to test dog food. I do not feed kibble but once a month I buy a 50 lb bag of food I support and give it to a shelter. I know that is not affordable to many, but I feel if I can afford to spoil my dog like he is than I owe it to the many dogs who are not so lucky to help them out a bit. And I use that opportunity as a consumer to show my preference, for a food that does not use pet carcasses as an ingredient, and a food that does not kill puppies to see how the food works. Imagine if a baby formula company did that to test their new formula? Quote

It may as well benefit some needy dogs in shelters. By entering this contest, I am not giving them money there fore not supporting them! You are great and should pat yourself on the back for donating food! But I don't think anybody asked if you donated food. And I don't think anybody asked if we supported Eukanuba! There have been plenty of threads discussing preferred brands of food. Look under Care. Yes, my thoughts exactly. I stopped feeding my dogs Iams recently after all these discussions were brought up and will not go back to it...BUT, my neighbors feed their dog Eukanuba (the one I'm sitting) and I went to the sight to see what they thought he should be eating a day (he's getting 8 cups total) and found the link to the free food. I would never support Iams, but like Sash said, someone will win it whether we enter or not, so we might as well try to win... Quote
alicat613 Posted December 26, 2002 Posted December 26, 2002 Sashagirl, didn't mean to offend you! (I'll pat myself on the back now LOL) You both have a point, it's not really supporting them, and actually better now that I think about it if someone who "knows better" wins. The contest goal is really to give someone a years supply so they end up liking it and using it forever, but if we win and donate it, they lose! Haha! Ok, now I'll enter. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted December 26, 2002 Posted December 26, 2002 YEAH! Thanks! We know better, we don't want to support such companies. And if we win, we are not supporting them, but just getting free food for a shelter for a year! Kinda like outsmarting them! Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted December 26, 2002 Posted December 26, 2002 DONE. I better let mom know.... Nah...she'll know that out of all three kids, all with dogs, that it was me. Quote
