Guest Anonymous Posted December 12, 2002 Posted December 12, 2002 Recently I bought a roll of Natural Balance Dog Rolls in the lamb formula for a special treat. Last night I finally opened it up and prepared some for the freezer, etc. It looks and smells just like summer sausage. Anyway, here's my question. The ingredients list lamb, lamb heart, lamb lung, and lamb kidneys. Is this good nutrition for dogs? Here's the complete list taken from a website: LAMB FORMULA ROLL Lamb, Lamb Hearts, Lamb Kidneys, Lamb Lungs, Whole Wheat Flour, Rice Flour, Lamb Fat (Preserved with mixed Tocopherols and Ascorbic Acid source of Vitamin C) Sucrose, Ground Whole Flaxseed, Calcium Carbonate, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Phosphates, Brewer's Yeast, Dried Kelp Meal, Lecithin, Natural Smoke Flavor, Glycerin, Choline Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Zinc Proteinate, Ferrous Sulfate, Iron Proteinate, Vitamin E Supplement, Vitamin B-12 Supplement, Copper Proteinate, Niacin, Vitamin A Acetate, Manganous Oxide, Calcium Pantothenate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Riboflavin, Calcium Iodate, Folic Acid, Thiamine Mononitrate, Vitamin D-3 Supplement, ,Biotin, Sodium Selenite, Sodium Nitrite. Mary's Mama Posted December 12, 2002 Posted December 12, 2002 I think so. I did see some other things I would worry about though, fat and sucrose not to mention some of those things I can't pronounce. I give Mary Rollover www.rolloverpetfood.com once a day, stuffed in her kong. I swear it is dog crack! She loves it. I have found it to be the best of the "roll" type dog food. It is a candian product that I have to order over the internet but if you live up north you might be able to find it. The organ meat is not a problem though. From my barf research I have read that in the wild the animals actually go for the organs before the muscle. (Hope that is right, can't always believe everything you read right!) Quote
