Guest Anonymous Posted December 8, 2002 Posted December 8, 2002 I'm doing some research on dog breeding for a paper (some of you may have seen my post in the breeding forum) and I'm wondering what judges look for today vs. what they looked for say maybe 20-30-50 years ago. Also, how does this effect how people breed their dogs (what specific traits they breed for). thanks for any input :) Quote
Guest roo Posted December 17, 2002 Posted December 17, 2002 Judges look for today what they have always looked for. The are judging the dogs to the breed standard. Each breed has a breed standard, covering all aspects of how a breed should look, and move. They are two different types of judges. Breed specialists and Allrounders. go to this site. pick a breed and go to you be the judge. it explains what you are looking for and why. its quite good fun too  www.worldclassdogs.com Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Judges look for all kind of things. There are those who judge on the standard like there supposed to, the ones who judge on who they are attracted to and the ones who play ring politics with the proffessionals.
