HELP ME!!!

Do any of you know a good poem about what friends are for?I'm doing a speech, representing my class, in school.In English.That's why I'm doing it.But I read too fast and it needs to be more than 3 minutes.So my teacher told me to add a poem to the beginning, to introduce the topic.Please help....the contest is tommorrow and I'm not even ready yet. :(

Hi egg,

my 15 yr old daughter is my resident poetry expert...LOVES poetry. She says you can do an internet search and find tons of poetry sites. Good luck!! And about reading too fast....stop and pretend you need to take a breath at the end of each sentence. That will begin to slow you somewhat.

That's a good poem..I never heard of it before.I found one on google

A friend is someone we turn to
when our spirits need a lift.
A friend is someone we treasure,
for our friendship is a gift.
A friend is someone that fills our life, with beauty, joy and grace
And makes the world we live in,
A better, happier place.

Another:

If I could catch a rainbow, I would do it just for you.
And share with you it's beauty on the days you're feeling blue.
If I could build a mountain you could call your very own,
A place to find serenity, a place to be alone.
If I could take your troubles, I would toss them in the sea,
But all these things I'm finding are impossible for me.
I cannot build a mountain, or catch a rainbow fair,
But let me be what I know best, a friend that's always there.

BTW, I got 5fth place.My dad got REALLY mad.There were 26 classes.The judje said I went too fast for a speech.But actually, I didn't.It just seemd fast compared to the other people's long droning.I almost fell asleep listening to them.

I ...speak.....good.....English. I...want.....you...to....speak....better...English...you...listen...to....me...speak....better...English.on and on and on
