This message is for the post (BOERBOEL)

I hope those will see that both breeds should not be judged, they are totally different in CHARACTER.

BULLMASTIFF!

The temperament of the Bullmastiff is perhaps the most appealing part of the total picture he presents.
He is a steady, stable animal, completely lacking in excitability.
His intelligence, his readiness to use it, is certainly ''selling'' him as the ideal pet.
He adores children and will tolerate an incredible amount of abuse from them.
He is completely dependable, but the fortunate midnight prowler has much to worry about.
A Bullmastiff will seldom bark, and never will he do so without reason.

I would also like to point out that one of the pups was mated with his mother, too closely bred i think.

Shannon, many breeders do this type of mating occasionally,
it is not something to be done for the fun of, and pedigrees, bloodlines, breed type , standards and breed problems must all be taken into account.
you can only go in so many times before you have to go out.
I am sure if you look back into charlies pedigree, you will find lots of inbreeding. This type of mating was much more common years ago, its just not talked about very much

Thankyou for putting a light on that Roo.

Inbreeding should not be done too often as it can cause big problems in the breed. I know it requires great knowledge, skill, and experience and should not be attempted by novices. It is done to set certain characteristics found in the parents and other relatives.
Since it brings out both good and the bad!

Just immagine if us humans were allowed to go with parents, sisters and brothers etc.....i hate to think what the outcome would be.
